This Live Series Event got me and a buddy thinking. Wouldn't it be sick if there was a Live Series Only mode. Like a ranked season but only live series players. Lineups would be mostly diamond but at least there would be some variability instead of every team having the 99 rated players.
Variability??? By the end of this month, every lineup would be nearly identical

I disagree. Some people hit better with certain batters then others. I cannot buy a hit with Acuna, but crush it with ketel marte
-
Just keep this event active forever! Then add new ones. Why can't there be more than 1 event at a time? This would be nice for TA grinds, so the games matter some, but winning or losing really doesn't. Maybe add some new rewards every month, and have it tied to monthly rewards.

" Lineups would be mostly diamond but at least there would be some variability instead of every team having the 99 rated players."
Not true at all, no matter what mode they create, there will always be a meta. You would see a lot of Bellinger, Trout, Gary Sanchez at catcher etc.
People always think if they create some new mode, magically the playerbase will not default to certain cards, when in reality they always will

That’s probably because Marte is a switch hitter so you’re always getting the better matchup against the pitchers throwing hand and taking away that inside pitch. Acuna being a righty and early in most of the better pitchers right now are righties, so he’s not getting ideal matchups. I tend to hit better with switch hitters as due most.

I definitely think we need more online modes in general since most of the missions are online only. If you don’t have time for a 45 RS game you’re kinda screwed trying to prestige someone most the time

Yea I get what you're saying. I think it would be more fun, especially as the real season starts and players are moving up and down in attributes and rankings. It could be fun to follow along with that. And I still think there would be more different lineups than having the 99 card of each position, especially towards the end of the year.

There wouldn't be more different lineups, because your misrepresenting what the actual real ranked season is like. There wasn't one 99 card of each position, there were like 10-15 per position, whereas with LS, there is only one best card and that's Mike Trout, anyone who has Mike Trout will always use Mike Trout, anyone who has Bellinger will always use Bellinger. People always default to the highest/best card, no matter the mode.
I'm not saying it's a bad idea to have a always going LS thing, it would be fun, but it's not going to magically create more diverse lineups.
Currently, in real ranked seasons, you see so many different 1B, FOTF Matt Olson, Todd Helton, Giambi, Kirilloff, Olreud, you see secondaries guys like Nolan Gorman, Nolan Jones, that list will only get more expansive as the year goes on.
You know who you would face all the time with only LS? Pete Alonso, Freddie Freeman, maybe Arenado or Rendon in a secondary and perhaps once in a blue moon LS Olson.

That is why they need to implement a stamina meter for all players like they did for pitchers this season...a way to curb using the same players every game

Putting a cap of 85 team overall would create tons of lineup variety

This event is proof you're wrong. guess who I've seen in center field 4 out of the 5 games I've? Mike Trout!. Guess who I've seen in right field 4 out of 5 times, Cody Bellinger! Guess who has been catcher 3 out of 5 times? Gary Sanchez!
People still default to using the same type of cards, no matter what limit is created, there is always a meta and people will always default to it.
If the cap is lowered, people will just use the "glitchy" silvers. Oh look another Joc Pederson! Restrictions don't magically create variety.

I dont use trout in cf( I use kiermaier) I dont use Acuna. I have yelich on the bench. I dont use a lot of the same guys that most do. I have every live series card there is.

I'm talking about the average user though, the average user is going to default to the highest cards, there will always be exceptions, that doesn't mean that everyone is going to play like you. Most people "default" to the best rated cards

Youre probably right. Most people are sheep.

It's just a shame that the majority of live series players were obsolete after week1 because of the fof cards.

Yea I agree. It would bring back some value to the live series cards

Yea I feel you. I didn’t realize there would be 10-15 options of 99s at each position. I guess I would appreciate the increased value of the live series cards.
