I know a lot of people don't like Showdown and I am with the majority that don't. Here's my take...

    1. I don't necessarily feel like the hitting is altered as some think but more because I feel obligated or like it's essential to reach 300 stars in the Program. I think that's where most player frustration comes in. Now that I see what Player Programs and Conquest maps give for Program Stars, I wish SDS would issue a "Schedule of Content release" for that Inning when it is first released so players know if they need it or can do it out of enjoyment or for the challenge. Can plan accordingly.

    2. I've completed it for Innings 1 and 2 but for the 3rd, I've failed 6+ times and just get frustrated it's not fun. I like to see it setup where you don't get eliminated, you buy in once and just keep trying until you beat the Final Showdown. I think most fans hate having to start over. Peace of mind would be not starting from scratch.

    3. Maybe just give out all the rewards in one lump sum once you beat the Final Showdown. That'll get fans to buy in, and keep trying knowing what's at the end.

Imo second affinity showdowns are perfect. 1st ones are doable, but not to an easy feat for an average player.

Since it’s set up like BR

1 - Boss battles are 3 inning games.
2 - You don’t earn runs during the moments, just better players.
3 - You get eliminated after 2 boss loses.

    If I'm understanding right...

For #2 - why would players bother going through the moments if you're gonna go into the final Showdown down 0-15 anyways? Might as well just turn it into something like a 9 inning game you start out down 0-5 and just win the game...

The final Showdown would be a 3 inning game, like BR games are. You go through the moments to get better players for that 3 inning game.

Agreed. Often I skip those just to save time.

I will say again and again... SHOWDOWNS SUCK! They are way too difficult, take too much time and end in failure for the MAJORITY of average players. This is getting ridiculous how many of us are saying the same thing. It is impossible to hit!

The thing I hate about Showdown is that you have to start all over again if you fail. After a failed attempt I feel I have wasted a ton of time, got nothing out of it, AND I have to do it AGAIN.

I understand the frustration if you fail, I really do. But I don’t understand how hitting can be hard. More than half the time, the PCI is so big that you don’t even have to worry about moving it horizontally. Then eliminate the bottom third of the zone. Hit anything thats close to middle belt/up.

Honestly, struggling to hit in showdown is a result of poor discipline. You get so many meatballs to punish

I am beating stage 1 SDs more now than before, and you know what... I still hate the mode, still do not find it fun in anyway.

I'd like to see Showdowns changed as follows:

    1. Mini-Boss battles are nothing more than a gate.....you fail, you need to restart that battle. My reasoning is that the less skilled players (myself included) really need to get the most points to make that final challenge easier. Going in down 4 for me is like going down 15 for someone else. I need those points and having to choose between losing my run to a Mini-Boss or skipping to the end before the Mini-Boss is the same thing really. Remove rewards from the Mini-Bosses to compensate.

    2. The final boss doesn't fail you completely should you not beat him. You just need to start over like you would a failed moment. Again, this allows the less than stellar among us to be able to go into those challenges knowing that if I get a bad run, i can start it again without having to go through the whole thing again to possibly have it happen again, ad nausem.

    3. To compensate for the above, restarting a Mini-Boss costs 100 to 150 stubs, restarting the final boss costs 250 to 500 stubs, depending on the Showdown.

In what universe? I've been playing The Show since 2007, and I know how to read balls and strikes. There are not "so many meatballs" in Showdown mode. Not against Oswalt in First Inning, on All Star. Not against Kershaw, in First Inning. One good pitch per at-bat, maybe, that you better jump on .. or you are screwed.

Alright, I’ll give you MAYBE the first inning. I cam see how some people may have struggled. But there’s still crying and complaining and the new sets of showdown are on veteran... VETERAN!! The pci is the width of the strike zone and I’m sorry but you do get tons of meatballs

Not to mention if you’re successful on most of the blue missions which are on Veteran once again, you go into the final boss only needing 4-5 runs with 20 outs

Nothing about DD is really fun, except for the DD League I play in. I do like Showdown from the standpoint of I've only played 1 RS game but not suffered in the stub department.

I do enough online to get program stars and that's it. TA is a treasure trove for free stubs and packs.
