Update 1.10 Discussion

Middle infielders need to have more of a sense of urgency when turning two... The routine double play is far from "routine".
-
Anybody else getting brutalized by the baserunning? I find that it’s costing me games more than about anything else. Just had a runner on 1st and 2nd. Hit a ground ball up the middle. I immediately pressed L1 so they wouldn’t all freeze in the middle of the base paths as they do often do, and lo and behold, they all got programmed to run to 3rd. Can anybody guess what happened then? Answer: A lot of outs at third. Any word on any baserunning adjustments?
-
Things that drive me nuts this year; bad connections degrading gameplay, drag bunts being op, check swings being too frequent and rarely punished, bad pitch location with fairly good input, good/okay on good swing input, can’t catch a ball near the outfield wall.
If you could somehow fix or adjust those things, or the ones you can control, we’d have a decent game here. -

I would love to have seen this, your description makes me think of those old silent movies with the slapstick jokes where peoples are all running in a line and the first one stops and then they all run into each other. Did you capture any video?

Sadly, I didn’t. But I can still see it when I close my eyes.

Well outfield fielding is better however the the infield is still infected. Playing MTO and a slow grounder up the middle and both second base and short over ran the ball and wouldn't pick it up. Also had a MTO outfielder that had the red ring around the ball but then the ball fell and rolled pasted to the wall.
Also why adjust the home run derby xp it has always been 25xp for year and years. It is the only mode my wife and I play together and 8xp is all you get now. Why take away double rewards but still have fielding bugs?

Another update and disapppointgly not much done to make starters as relievers an "emergency" decision.
Here is what needs to be done. If a started is brought in as a reliever, he should be double taxed on stamina for every pitch. If the starter was not at full rest when put into the game, there should be a 1 game penalty where that starter recieves no stamina recouperation. Penalties for pitching gassed should be steeper, and you should hit red stamina sooner say 20% as opposed to the 10-15 it's at now. Putting a starter in as a reliever should be an emergency extra innings decision, not the META.
They can't even get coding to work for fielders and you want them to implant code to determine how often a pitcher has come into a game?
The easier solution is to either go back to Starter Roulette or get rid of the option of having a starter come in as a reliever.
Yeah, the stamina issues could be fixed like a tuner update, wouldn't need a full on patch. The penalty to stop regen for 1 game would need to be in a full patch.

Victor can we get any information on the good/okay hitting feedback. I have not read anything from sds that has talked about this. I just would like to know what is the plan with hitting, and if it is being planned to tweak or to stay where it is?
The fact this didn't get replied to or any posts similar to it by sds themselves shows they have no plans of being transparent about the hitting. They are gonna keep us in the dark and then turn off the hr/9 stat again.

What the heck did you guys do to hitting with the latest patch. You have destroyed the game!

Notes are here: https://theshow.gg/4dm
Set to deploy on Friday 5/1/2020 at 3 AM PT.When are you gonna actually listen to the people who purchase your product and fix the broken items. Or are you just gonna continue to blow smoke up our asses with useless nonsense?

Y’all are so quick to fix XP glitches but not fielding.
Because those are easy to fix. XP is just changing numbers but fielding is far more complex

Ah, you must mean the latest feature to be added to Diamond Dynasty. In response to complaints that most games were home run or bust, feast or famine, so to speak, there is now some strange amalgamation of HR/9, wind and top spin from ‘17 in effect that causes well hit balls to suddenly and abruptly die mid-flight before they reach the wall (be grateful, the last thing anybody wants is a ball hit near a wall, right?) and land neatly in an outfielders glove.
We at SDS thank you for your always invaluable feedback, we’re always monitoring it, along with the now somewhat mythical backend data that has been and continues to be a trusty guide to ensuring all things continue to run smoothly for our valued customers. For the record, I’ve had some really awful incidents in RS this week, including but not limited to; incorrect safe/out calls at all bases, incorrect animations being applied to various situations from tagging to throwing to basic catches, undefendable bunts even when all possible steps are taken to prevent opponents from bunting, incessant incorrectly called check swings, defenders refusing to tag opposing base runners and lots more. Put bluntly, this game is an absolute shambles. It’s farcical, to the point that I no longer attempt to compete seriously, I don’t get angry or emotionally invested in any way with the game, I just laugh at it. It’s ridiculously broken in seemingly new and ever changing ways from week to week. It’s really something to behold at this point, it truly is.
This is all entirely tongue in cheek and said with a heavy dose of sarcastic humour, but honestly, if you play this game at high volume for any length of time, as I and many others here do, unfortunately the multitude of flaws soon come to the fore. A lot of these flaws have been ever present in previous versions of the game, some are new, the most annoying ones seem like they only started occurring since last years game, like the outfield issues. I feel like this year, be it new flaws or old flaws, SDS have somehow done their worst job ever at hiding them, papering over the cracks and delivering a decent baseball experience. We’re at the point where it’s kind of getting unacceptable and I’m a loyal supporter of this franchise and the team behind it, despite my complaints at times. I’m not angry, I’m just a little disappointed.
-
Oh and for the record, I didn’t bother to record these multiple incidents, edit the clips, upload them online, then provide a handy link here for a couple of reasons. First of all, I’ve been doing that for a while now and it’s become apparent it’s a fruitless exercise that does little to no practical good in terms of improving the game. Secondly, why would I put that effort in to try make the game better, when SDS apparently aren’t putting any effort in on their end?

@Victor_SDS I know this is not a glaring issue, but I have submitted multiple feedback reports on this matter. The Under Armour compression sleeve appears on every single live-series player and some flashbacks that should have the Nike compression sleeve equipped to match the rest of their equipment. In example some of the players like Gary Sanchez, Cody Bellinger, POTM Didi, the list goes on... I hope this can be updated, thank you!

These sinkers are out of hand. They look like a breaking ball then zoom to the plate 150 mph.. I can be very late on 95 sink then the very next pitch be early on 99mph fastball. it's like you're at a disadvantage not using a sinker ball pitcher.

Have you tried check swinging at them?

So after having enough time to play with the new patch and not rush to judgment i havent noticed as big a difference in 1.10 then i did in 1.09.
Outfield is definitely better but anything hard hit is still causing problems, hard hit balls when my guy has to move directly side to side sometimes he makes no effort at the ball and it goes all the way to the wall and anything near the walls still causes problems with locking on to ball properly or picking up ball near the wall. Also outfielders need to throw with more urgency to the cutoff, cutoff throws always feel like they are casual even when 99 speed ricky is running the bases on a ball to gap.
Infielders are the major problem now more then anything for me. Playing a RS game last night my opponent at almost every single ball bobbled by his infielders, not an exaggeration but actually every ball, slow rollers, sharply hit balls, and everything in between. It helped me out but i can only imagine my opponent was losing his mind. No matter what a players rating are on d they are still pro baseball players, routine plays should be routine. Also infielders need to play with more speed and urgency.
In general defense needs to be tuned so players play quicker(not faster, quicker) and with more urgency, most defensive players play like its a casual sunday beer league instead of highly paid professionals.
EDIT: baserunning. Forgot to put this in originally. Lots of errors baserunning produced by the "assist". It feels very different from past years, players feel less responsive to commands causing me to hold the buttons longer or pressing multiple times. Also players over running bases and not able to turn around and get back on time, usually happens rounding 2nd base to 3rd, if u wait too long to make a decision u get stuck in no mans land and thrown out, i just want to round the base a step or 2 and be able to get back like irl.
More responsiveness from controller input on players would help. I would like it if holding L1 made a player run to next available base, not advance 2 or more. Example: if i have runner on first and ball is hit to outfield i should hold L1 down but when i release it my player should stop at next available base, if i let go of trigger before 2nd base i should stop at 2nd, if i hold past 2nd base then he should go to 3rd. I use the analog stick and base button method for when i want a player to advance multiple bases ie. 1st to home.
I appreciate the forum as a way to communicate problems and offer feedback. I understand not everything can be addressed instantly and feel the updates have generally improved gameplay and look forward to the future patches so this game can play to its full potential.
Thank you for your time reading this.

The home run banner sticking around is not fixed consistently, I'm still seeing it hang around about half the time so far. Can we just remove it entirely at this point?
If you let the player cross the plate and high five his teammate after the HR the banner will disappear every time (in my experience).

Yup that’s what I do. Or just pause real quick.

After patch 1.10 I had an incident where a ball was hit to mickey mantle in deep right center with runners on 1st and 2nd. Mick fielded the ball on one hop ,making an outstanding backhanded grab. When I tried to throw to the cut off man he wouldn't throw the ball. I tried 3b....nope, no throw,....I tried to throw home.....nope no throw. Realizing that he wouldn't throw I unsuccessfully tried to run the ball to home but, (yep! You guessed it) my opponent was rewarded with a 3 run inside the park homerun. Would you guys please give Mickey 150 speed so I might be able to beat the runner home next time?
