I pause to adjust the defense sometimes. It could happen multiple times an inning depending on what is going on.

People like you are annoying to play

Because SDS doesnt know how to program defensive alignments properly and I have to fix it makes me annoying? Cool.

Yeah...try being your opponent and having to deal with you pausing over and over...yes that is annoying and unfair to who you are playing

Send a complaint to SDS then. Outfielders dont play deep with a runner on second giving their opponent a free run if the ball is hit to center.

Just saying how it is...your the one who can't accept the fact you would be annoying to play against

I usually pause to see who they have batting next or if it's a player I'm not super familiar with to check his ratings...

I pause when my dog wants to go out, need wine, my wife talks to me, the opponent is quick pitching me.

If you rush the game, I will slow the game down so much and bring Walter Johnson in the game.

Thats the beauty of baseball. There is no game clock. Every man gets his chance. 27 outs no matter how short or how long the at bats are. So im sorry ranked seasons game cant condense an already beautiful 3 hour baseball game to less than 40 minutes

You should get 3 minutes total for 9 innings, no reason to add time to that. If you can’t deal with that you should not play online. Wish SDs has some brains and changed pause time.

you start with 2:00 and slowly can build that up over the course of a game. Repetitive pauses take :15 off the timer regardless so I feel like thats a pretty solid rate of play parameter

Let's be honest, Ranked Series needs to be 5 or 7 innings with a modified staff.

    1 starter, 1 RP and 1 Closer.

If the game is lagging or you suspect that your opponent is lag/surge cheating then pausing for 5 sec before every at bat helps the lag issue. Most of the time it's a bad connection but there are a bunch of tech nerds lag cheating.

I disagree they are doing something and its rampant in ranked season Game be running fine until they get in a jam You can hit a ball a ton and they manipulate it back into play Sometimes runs already counted disappear Even the game log dont match the outcome Saved many replays See it clearly IT S LAGWACKIN And its in 19 and 20 Everybody seen it Over half are doing it

Defensive positioning, gathering info about a pitcher or hitter, checking bullpens, or just slowing the game down so I can focus if a pitcher is fooling me and gets into a rhythm.

Other than that, bathroom, a knock at the door, a phone call from my manager, or my PS4 fan gets so loud I need to let the thing cool down in the pause menu.

Don’t play RS if you can’t deal with people using their slotted pause timer to play the game how they need to.

I quit a lot of games because it becomes so annoying. Sometimes I let the timer run, but more often I quit and move on.

Thats what they are trying to get you to do. They are looking for cheap wins and it's bush league.

Press down on your dpad you can adjust defense without pausing

that's still a pause, the timer still goes down during a quick menu pause.

or you could just not complain. there are legit reasons to pause. i like to look at pitcher's analysis, change defensive alignments, make substitutions. all part of the game, using the tools given to me.

That's why guys do it! To annoy them to the point of quitting so they can get a free win. It's something I've just learned to live with.

It does get frustrating. But as a father of 2 little ones, I know that I will pause the game from time to time if a kid wakes up in the middle of the night or something like that. So not everyone is doing it in a sketchy way
