Of course they took that away. Now its just another mindless grind, nobody enjoys.
SDS wants you to buy stubs and spend them on the market for TA Exchanges... thats why they took it away.
But hey... lets keep Fielding a hot mess and pitching and hitting a rng fest...Some people enjoy MTO for the experience.
No. It's only about how I want to use it and I say if you can't mindlessly play it to exploit the balance in another game mode it's irrelevant and not rewarding for anyone.

The core purpose of the mode is to enjoy the season experience without having to play a full season or worry about the complexity of managing a franchise. It’s ‘season lite’ if you will. Some people enjoy it for that.
It’s not irrelevant to them at all.
Yeah but why change a detail like that, which is something that they launched with? Which is a question I’ve asked almost everything single patch.
It isn't something they launched with. MTO didn't start giving out double points until stage 2 Affinity was released.
Oh I totally missed that in between the 98% of complaint threads and the weird arguments that squishy always finds herself in.
-
Stage 3 won't be out until at earliest June, double point was a glitch not a feature they added. Plus missions are set up to use the player you unlocked in the next TA stage, so slow your roll everyone!
-
Double points was a mistake, of course they were going to correct it.
-
I'll still enjoy it because it's a nice little outlet for when I get too pissed playing online and it's decent XP. But I will say, regardless of it being a mistake or a gift, it sure made the game feel more fun and rewarding for a moment, and it was just nice while it lasted... Oh well, back to hating myself while playing showdown.
-
It was a bug people were exploiting, of course they were going to patch it.

It basically made it equivalent (time wise) to doing showdowns, but less XP and packs. It wasn't necessarily an "exploit" to grind 6-7 hrs for a diamond and some packs. I'm not hating on them for it, I get it why they didn't keep it, but it wasn't on the same level as the retro xp glitch.

was it irrelevant all the way up until last Friday? Because I certainly didn't hear anyone say so.

Not at all, like I just said 3 posts up, I'll still even enjoy the mode. BUT, this last week did make me realize it's not something viable and efficient in comparison to showdowns, and it's just something I'll grind when I'm very bored.
-
it was never intended to be a replacement for showdown.
-
Danngggg that sucks. Well I think alot more people will not be playing this game due to heightened time it takes to grind for cards. Oh well! time to play other games

again, they fixed a bug that was in play for one week. If that's enough to push you away you were gone already.

Yeah but honestly that was a good bug for the game. I rather spend 6 hrs and get 120 points, than spend 12 hrs! do 2 runs of the same team! just to get a card. Even though we live in pandemic times no one has time for that.

It was just nice while it lasted man, and opened up a game mode to people who might not have played it otherwise because of the grind.
-
yeah it was nice, I took advantage of it like anyone else would, but it was a bug, there was no way they weren't fixing it. I can't be angry about it.
-
Well the extra time it takes makes the game feel like a chore. No one likes chores and maybe they should consider making double affinity event weekend or work something out similar to that. Right now with no baseball and this game is getting bashed left and right maybe a little community love would be good. I dunno im not the PR man but just a little professional criticism.

It's definitely not something to [censored] on SDS about. It was a gift. But I'll be selfish and say I'm a little sad about it lol.
-
Once I beat NL Central Showdown twice, very doable as it's the least difficult of the 6. And buy Cole and lock in Yankees, I will have 16 teams at stage 2. I will then MTO the other 14 teams, not looking forward to it, but it's the only way I'll get them to level 2. I haven't tried level 2 SD yet, but I hear easier.
-
[censored], that sucks. As someone who has limited time to the play the game, this was my chance to catch up on the TAs. Im still gonna play it because I suck at the 1 stage showdowns, (and i haven't touched a stage 2 showdown yet, cause i only have 2 teams at 70 points lol) but man that puts the hard grind back in for sure.
