3rd Inning Boss 3 Predictions
-
So far we know Brian Roberts and Shane Victorino.
Keeping in line with that era and player profile I'm going to guess the 3rd boss will be....
A pitcher...
A left handed (first 2 innings were RHP)...
Al Leiter.
May not be exciting but he is in that same era, similar player prominance, and a LHP to complement the past two RHP.
-
Gonna be a reliever. Plesac or Ishringhousen IMO
-
We can nearly complete the Braves rotation with lefty Steve Avery.

If it were a reliever, I'd love a diamond Lee Smith... But I'd hate facing him all the time lol

There is already plesac and isringhausen in the game. Please just not some recycled player we've seen the last three years. I am sick of the same legends every year (Schmidt, Jenkins, Vida, Oswalt, Gagne, Hoffman etc.) Hoping for a player we haven't seen yet from that era; maybe Mussina, Schilling, Zito, Pettitte, [Randy Johnson], [Pedro Martinez], [Roy Halladay].
I put those three in brackets because I believe any of them making it into the game will be a marketable event and not just a random 3rd inning boss, although I would not be disappointed with any of them

You are bound do be disappointed when it is Plesac or Isringhousen then. Roberts and Victorino have cards already too and they are bosses. 90% of complaints about content root from expectations being too high
-
Cliff Lee would serve the purpose of
a. pissing off absolutely everyone who isn't me
b. well i guess that's it actually -

Very valid point. I just am sick of seeing the same exact cards come out every year. I would've been extremely content with the Future Stars cards either being rated 88-92 and/or being actual future stars that were either top draft picks or have already broken into the bigs (Puk, Honeywell, Dahl, Benintendi, Frazier, Soto, Bichette) Not these players who some of which are not even top 100 MLB prospects

Exactly! This is why I've been onboard with the Prospects and Future Stars cards. At least they're different and new. Yeah not exactly fitting the description. But they didn't add enough new legends this year to be demanding more of those.

I hear you, but Plesec is new this year, so he'll certainly get a second card eventually.

It won't be a pitcher, the first sneak peak they tweeted showed 3 guys, the one on the left was Brain Roberts, Victorino in the middle, and on the right is a right handed hitter. I am guessing someone from 70's or 80's.

Cliff lee or Dave kingman

Maybe throw in a Kevin Millwood?

I don't think that SDS has some of those players' rights. Which is why we haven't seen them in past games. This year they got Todd Helton rights and was a boss.
-
It could be Prime Mark Buehrle... I think it would fall almost perfectly in line with the overall ratings of the Roberts and Victorino.
-
Saberhagen
-
Curt Schilling

My 3rd boss guess: Carlton Fisk 96 overall rookie or prime series
My headliner guess: recycle catcher Sean Murphy 94-96 overall. Just like madrigal and bohm
