Can't sell duplicates?

I imagine this is likely me outing myself as an idiot, but if I have a duplicate of a player, then collected his card, both the original and the duplicate are collected and unsellable?
Because I have done that a lot and I just realized I have dozens -- maybe hundreds -- of worthless cards in my inventory.

No, the only duplicates that are unsellable are the team-specific affinity packs, the ones that give you two silver/two bronze.

Oh okay gotcha. So is there a way to avoid running into worthless duplicates like that? Or is that just an inevitable consequence of trying complete collections?

Inevitable, what I do is exchange the unsellable silvers in the gold exchange, and sell the gold.

Inevitable, what I do is exchange the unsellable silvers in the gold exchange, and sell the gold.
Oh that's smart.
And yeah it's my first attempt at clearing my inventory. The first few silver duplicates I tried were unsellable and my heart sank into my stomach. But like you said, the next dozen were fine so crisis averted.
