Jackie should not get knocked down on his defensive ratings for playing 2B on his 83 Rookie card. That was his natural position and he was very good there. But the Dodgers wanted him in the lineup in 1947 and 1B was the only opening. So he learned to play 1B that season. Eventually he went back to 2B. The ratings should be adjusted. Just make his primary 2B and secondary 1B. That will make it historically accurate and work with the framework of The Show.

Lol no. He played 151 games at 1B in 1947, so it would not make any sense to give him 2B as a primary for that season. They shouldn’t adjust how the game works just because he would’ve played 2B given the opportunity. That would create more potential problems in the future.

It makes sense and is perfectly fine the way it is. It shouldn’t be changed, nor will it be.

Any Robinson card from 48-52 should have 2B as his primary, but it not be historically accurate at all to give his 47 card 2B primary. Single season cards are based on stats, not “what-ifs” or assumptions.

I get what you're saying and I normally would agree. But he shouldn't get knocked down playing 2B in his case. That was his best position... Period

So the workaround to make his fielding attributes work within the confines of the game, is to just switch his primary position to 2B. Raise his defensive attributes to make him the better fielder he was there. Then he gets the Secondary position penalty when at 1B.
Trust me. It works and it's a simple fix within the confines of the game. I'm more concerned about his actual true life performance level at a given position than just for labeling purposes at a Position within the game that artificially makes him a weak fielder at 2B. That's historical accuracy even if he did spend most of the 1947 season at 1B. He was a better 2B. Before and after that season.

Also, who really cares? It’s an 83 gold.

That gold is better than the diamond.

It's not historically accurate for his diamond card to be as fast as Reggie Jackson

I agree. He booted a simple ground ball for me at 2nd in RS. Still trying to finish the 10 RS hits with him as it's impossible for me to get 2b/3b with him in Conquest. (I hit homers with him when I power swing, and weak singles otherwise)..
