-
What's up MLB The Show nation, I wanted to post this video to the forum to help people unlock Stage 2 Future Stars fast. I have unlocked 11 of them so far and they are all really good! Check out this video on how to complete showdown with no money spent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yn6QFWzhSfw&t=15s

You have to be good for this strategy to work.

Someone wake me when someone who sucks makes a video of an easy method to beat showdown.
100-1 odds says it doesn't happen lol
-
To be fair, @College_Lefty93 has a point but you still have to be moderately good at the game to pull this off. I consider myself decent and I haven’t even considered trying this yet. I might try it just to see though
-
I beat it but the only reason I beat it was because I played through the whole thing and closed the gap to 15-9. There is no way I come back from 15-0.

I love these videos
"Hey guys today I will show you my tips on how to get through a Showdown. In general what I like to do is skip to the end and then just hit perfect perfect HR's and doubles until I score 16 runs"
Wow man thanks for the advice

Yeah here is the strategy, have good PCI placement so you can bash the computer on Veteran.
I mean he said draft a pitcher who can hit. When truth is, you must pinch hit for your pitcher with a position player.
There is no strategy for people who struggle to hit consistently on any difficulty, other than Git Gud.
I haven't even tried the new Showdowns yet, because I know how much trouble I have been having with hitting right now.
The only good thing is with every one of them being on the same difficulty there is no longer a need to readjust to differences in pitch speed.

I understand the mode is challenging, if you get off to a good start, you can get the pitcher's confidence down. if you wait for enough pitches they will throw it down the middle for easy hits. I wanted to post the video to try and help people.

Exactly haha. I use directional (never gonna be a stick jockey) and its impossible with the broken timing.

Isn't Directional all about timing tho? Lol

Imo much easier to just get through to the 2nd boss. Takes like 20 minutes and you can get yourself 5+ runs and great players.

I just play all of them, you get a good chunk of XP and they're pretty easy with all the top players you get in between.

All joking aside I really like your videos man.No bull in them and you are very good at hitting

Showdowns can be challenging and frustrating sometimes. Don't play if it's gonna frustrate you because that is no fun. Showdowns and moments frustrate the hell out me, so I do MTO for the TAs and have more fun doing it, plus I level up alot that way.
If you're good enough to beat the showdown, go for it. I'm not that good anymore at the game, age is catching up with me and my hand-eye coordination isn't what it used to be. -
If I get a good draft I’ll skip straight to the end and usually 2 out of 3 times Will get the 16 runs otherwise I will play the first three challenges to get a couple better players.
Confidence in pitchers is huge and you need to be somewhat disciplined because I like to not swing until I have two strikes first time through the lineup. Also never take that extra base unless it’s no doubt you will make it. It’s a station to station game no need to push anything when you need 8 runs yet.
That said I do believe an “excitement factor” is programmed in. It’s always a roller coaster. I’ve gotten 8 runs before with 18 outs left and the pitcher confidence is slammed yet I will start hitting balls straight at guys for 5 or 6 outs. It seems whether I start the game needing 16 runs or 7 runs no matter how well I hit I’m usually down to 5 or less outs once I win. There is almost always a guarantee you will go through a rough patch during the mode and the key is to not let it tilt you.

Pitcher confidence may be the worst mechanic in all of sports games.
Yup, it has been like this for awhile. Most of the time that I get terrible results from good timing and good PCI placement, I figure its pitcher confidence that has screwed me over.

My only complaint about the thread is the word "Easy" in the title.
Kind of like saying "Beat Dark Souls Easy" and then simply telling people to avoid getting hit by the bosses.
