For those Long Time RTTS Players
-
I have characters where I do, and some where I don't. I agree - sometimes I like a more "realistic" experience. 2020 feels a little easier to me than 2019, and my "Small Ball" character WITH equipment is already hitting 50 HRs in his 2nd year in MLB. I think I'll create another player with no equipment...
-
I use it mainly for aesthetic purposes.
-
Yeah but if you're going to start a 55 rated, just being able to play in the minors with equipment that makes you the equivalent of at least 65-75 rated depending on how good your equipment is, it just doesn't seem fair.
-
Maybe SDS should put up an option to cancel out equipment-boosted attributes.

And why in the world would you want that option? That makes absolutely no sense at all.

If you wanted the equipment's cosmetics but didn't want to use the stats, that makes sense. It'd be good for people who don't like seeing the show on everything.

What is some good diamond equipment you have used for your road to the show player? I've used a good bat and did good but looking for some good equipment in other areas to improve my player.

A lot of diamond equipment is way, way overpriced, so it pays to be a smart shopper. For the most part, gold equipment does roughly the same thing as diamond but for a fraction of the cost. For example, gold Under Armour shades give you +3 Vision and +4 ACC and +2 to REA and FLD for about 800 stubs, but diamond Under Armour shades only give marginally better stats — +3 Vision, +5 ACC, +4 FLD and +5 REA — but for a whopping 10K+ stubs. This is the same general pattern for the majority of equipment categories.
BUT! There are places to splurge. The ritual called “Legendary Call” gives +8 to power and contact. It’s like 18K stubs (!!!) but thats a really good boost. Same goes for Legend in a Cleat (+7 SPD and STL), but that one is currently only 7K. I find this one really useful, because when paired with diamond cleats, you can add +21 SPD and turn an Adam Dunn into a Mike Trout. On that note, I like the Adizero 6.0 cleats (+14 SPD, +10 STL, +8 REA).
I pulled an All-Star Pro Elite glove, and I like it a lot. But it runs for 8K and you can do basically the same thing with any of the 300-400 stub gold gloves.

I agree 100% with "Legendary Call". I don't play DD, so I sell all of the valuable cards that I get - that's how I get my stubs to buy the expensive stuff.

I play RTTS exclusively so I sell everything that is not used in that mode. I usually buy only gold equipment when the game first comes out but as time goes by the prices come down and I have built up a stockpile of stubs so then I buy diamond equipment

Do the same but I'm tired of the no sale on cards. I don't play DD so I should be able to sale all cards I earned. But I can't. I find that BS,

Oh yea that pisses me off too

Yeah, I use equipment. If I start outplaying my attributes, I can always up the difficulty or play with sliders.
