Patch 1.09

What exactly did it fix? Balls are still hitting my players in the face and infielders aren't picking up routine grounders.
They didn't fix anything. I think it is a connection issue and not a coding issue. I highly doubt in their studio they coded players to miss that many balls. Connection issues make too much sense for all the things happening in the game. These games are coded in a controlled environment. Once you introduce the majority of people and their not so great internet, these problems rise. Usually gets worse as the game goes on as the people with better internet get fed up and leave leaving only the mediocre internet people.

Are you dense? There's literally a 1.09 thread pinned by SDS to discuss this.

He needs more attention than that though.

Low self-esteem. What do you expect?

They never said they fixed it. Adjustments was the word they used. From my experience yesterday it still happens but not as often as it was pre-patch

Feels like placebo to me. Guys shouldn't be running over routine groundballs in the infield. That doesn't need adjustment, that needs to be fixed.

Now I could be wrong but I think on your screen you are in place for the ground ball but the server, for some reason, doesn't have you close enough to get the animation. Similar to when you play a shooter and you are around the corner but you get shot anyway. According to your opponent and the server, you haven't yet got around the corner even though on your screen you did. Ping based match making would solve a lot of these issues.
The reason the same people are at the top of the leaderboards every year is because they don't change their internet and SDS hasn't adjusted to gaming in the 2020's. These players are good players but would not be near as dominant with ping based match making. If rebel and I played right now with the same players, he would beat me by more than 10 probably in 3 innings. I would bet a lot of money that would not be the case if we were on the same network. I am not saying I would win but I sure wouldn't lose the same way.

Yes, it's because most people haven't upgraded their internets properly.
The top guys all have the excelsior level internets plan.
They need to stop hiding behind their low ping pongs. Maybe move to Alaska.

I have been wondering if custom leagues is factoring into the connection issues this year, I don't think connection problems were as prevalent last year as they are this year and I wonder if custom leagues has anything to do with it. I know they had connection issues with custom league/Online franchise in the past, so I wonder if thats an underlying issue here. Also these consoles are old as f@ck, im surprised developers can still pump out new games and get as much as they do out of them on these consoles.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I've been reading posts about fielding all year and I almost never seem to have the same issues, but I have really good internet so maybe that at least partially explains it.
