Remove All Star difficulty from Ranked Seasons
-
All star difficulty has no place in ranked seasons. RS is supposed to be a competitive mode, not a cesspool of randomness. Its ridiculous how many hits come as a result of poor user input, and how many outs come as a result of good user input. If you wanna play on AS difficulty, it should be in a mode where winning doesn't effect your ranking/rewards.
Sorry, but if you're not good at the game, you shouldn't be catered to. That's exactly what AS difficulty is, catering to those who either don't put the time in to get better or simply suck. I don't care if this comes off as elitist. You can have no skill at still win against far superior players on AS difficulty. That is the exact opposite of what ranked seasons in supposed to be.

Agree, 100%

You should change the title of the post to “I’ve never taken an intro to business class, but listen to my opinions on business operations”.

Please yes

I think it’s fine. Obviously it is a drag that there are random outcomes, but it is not an accident that the game plays this way.
The best players consistently put better swings on the ball and will eventually rise up the ranks.
The rest of us are just lying to ourselves about how good we are, for the most part, including OP most likely.
-
yeah make it so anyone inexperienced will quit within days after playing on HOF right outta the gate.

I’m not elite by any means, but I make WS every season so I’d say I’m above average. Doesn’t change my point that AS difficultly reduces the skill gap significantly. I’ve lost many games that i should have never lost but did because of the things I mentioned in the first paragraph

To be honest, I don’t find All-Star difficulty to be that bad this year. I actually find it kind of fun. Fun enough to get me playing BR. I definitely don’t experience “All-Star hell” anymore. What’s also nice is that if you make World Series, you start in Division Series, which reduces the amount you have to play on All-Star quite a bit. Overall, big thumbs up from me on how All-Star plays this year.

Look, nobody loved Cortana on Halo 3, but we made due without demanding it be removed.

"Awww, boo hoo. People who are aren't as good as me get to play ranked seasons too. Wahhhh". That's literally what you sound like, kid. Don't play RS if you don't like moving through the tiers.

I love how the answer is always to tell 90% of the player base to take a hike instead of actually fixing the problem.

But that's the thing, you can't just consider it from a competitive perspective.

Based on the current season there are roughly 170,000 players on all star and about 10,000 on HoF. So it's more than 90%. If anything they should get rid of Hall of Fame. Though that would be equally absurd.

I’m guessing there’s a lot of people that don’t enjoy 1-0 games with 50 strikeouts. Glad I’m not alone.

I’m not debating your points. I’m just saying we are all in the same boat. I agree with the others. It makes more sense to just fix All Star, rather than to do away with it.
Also, not to be that guy, but by your numbers this year, ERA 5.13 and WHIP 1.24 you are the definition of average. You’re obviously a better than average hitter at .310 so climbing through AS shouldn’t be that tough?

I would love it if AS was fixed. Unfortunately I believe it’s designed to be that way.
As far as my stats, go check out the top of the leaderboards in ranked and you’ll see my ERA is right on par with some of the top players. Not that it matters really, I’m just saying

So why shouldn’t somebody that’s not good be able to play on a difficulty that suits them best? Did they not spend the same amount of money on the game as you? Sounds like a very poor business model to only cater to players that are good.

I’ll admit that it’s extreme and unrealistic to remove AS from ranked. I know that it’s needed to keep the majority of the player base that doesn’t play on HOF/legend difficulty.
However I would like to see HOF difficulty begin at 600 instead of 700. I think that is much more realistic of a change that wouldn’t upset too many people

There's a lot of people who don't like Mr. Belvedere either, you can't please everyone.
