Is this the way to go? Seems like the second bosses are harder than the final boss.

In all showdowns I’ve beaten, my goal is always get to that point and skip, since at best it gives you 8 runs, but I’m usually at 6-7. More than enough run room for me to beat final showdown when I keyhole high FB

I skipped to final boss twice before finally trying to play through it
I had 1 run spotted to me when I faced Giles and I lost 15-15
I had 0 runs spotted when I played Feller and I lost 14-15
I finally played the whole thing and had 10 runs spotted and beat Price with 15 outs left.

I always play every boss, unless I feel really confident that my team will smash the final one.

Ohtani in particular is a pain in the [censored], but if you are patient he (and all the other bosses) hang their pitches, so I usually still play them through.

That’s a tough one, those diamond perks make a big difference. I skipped them a few times but have found the final boss is a lot more stress free if I’ve gone the whole way. That said for the program showdowns I’ve literally taken the drafted team and immediately skipped to the final showdown and beaten it both times.
I’ve found the divisional showdowns to be a lot more challenging.

I always skip Ohtani, I think I've beat him once meanwhile I light up Verlander. If I have 8+ runs I always skip unless its the AL Central (you get 20 outs for clevinger/walter and only need 4 runs)

Yes, always! If you have 7 or 8 runs already especially. Think bout it, if you have 7 runs you need to score 9 with 20 outs, or play the second boss and need to score 4 runs with 10 outs, pretty much a wash, and with having 20 outs the pitcher will get tired which helps a lot. I also suggest not swinging until you have 2 strikes; you will walk a lot, and the pitcher will get tired. Beuhler walked in 5 runs against me, I just set my controller on the ground because he lost confidence haha

I just skip to the end now. I recommend doing that. Easier than you think

I play them out. The XP and pack you get if you beat the 2nd boss is worth the risk. It’s not like it’s difficult to get back to where you were and you already made your stubs back at that point.
