It sounds like it may be a quality of competition issue? Maybe try against better players and see if you see better results?

Its just rng. Its too high. That means random [censored] is more likely to happen over user input. So you have to square up the ball and pitch more perfect than your normal skills are.

Plenty of options, the most common would be this:
If you find your competitor is not generating the quality of play you need to have an enjoyable H2H game, press the start button, navigate to quit and select it.

Had a 21 run total game tonight. We both hit 7 HRs a piece. I won, but we both had a nice laugh at how awful the state of this game currently is.

you know I always thought it was silly when people said that there was rng, or the game has a comeback formula or something, but the way this game plays this year, it’s hard to defend. My last game I had twice as many hard hit balls put in play (11) to my opponents (5), yet only 6 of my hard hit balls actually became hits while he went a perfect 5-5. You would think the person who is constantly making more solid contact would get rewarded more but that just wasn’t the case.
