As a business owner, I truly appreciate the detailed constructive criticism. This is how a good business should evaluate feedback. Personally, my SOLE deciding factor to buy next year’s game is re-instating early legends (Ty Cobb, Rogers Hornsby, Jimmie Foxx, Walter Johnson, Lefty Grove (especially as a reliever again), etc.) and new ones like Joe DiMaggio, Grover Alexander, and plenty of worthy pitchers. Without it, I will replay earlier versions I have. I banged the drum for Roy Campanella and was happy to see Red , Albert Pujols, and Phil Rizzuto added, and it brought me back this year. We’ll see for next year, as my free time will unfortunately be even more limited, but I am hopeful.

Not buying next year for the first year since inception. Hope more people join. The lack of improvement… frankly, the game was worse this year than the last few. I’m done.

    To the OP ... BRAVO!!!

All the points you raised were detailed and on spec.

I'll add another that personally spoiled it for me ... the wholesale malicious and petty neglect of all three of the remaining customer content creation modes -- Stadium Creator, Uniform Creator, and Logo Editor.

But, this does center on one of your critical and entirely fair repudiations of SDS ... obsession about hypercontrol of the game. When Stadium Creator was first released, no one considered it a fully finished game mode, but we all expected that over time SDS would continue to upgrade it and make it what it could be. Then, years went by without those upgrades and then last year we learn the code to support one of those desired options was there all along and turned off by SDS!

Then, when the newly unlocked option was discovered, and an option to use it badly was also discovered, the designer community handed to SDS on a platter the easy option to keep the option from harming the game and SDS sat on their hands and let it harm the game!

@globetrotter360_PSN Wasn't Hornsby apart of a unnamed group? He also disapproved of the integration of baseball, which I and most people outta argue is messed up.

@Player99_MLBTS Nah. There’s nothing there. Hornsby had a cocky attitude that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. I’m not sure he got along with anyone much. When you do enough of that to enough people, some are bound to fabricate things in retaliation. But as far as baseball goes, he was intensely determined to do everything in his power to be the best hitter ever, and many would state that he is.

The entire appeal of Diamond Dynasty is collecting cards, building a team, and competing against other players.

While I agree in general with most of your post (though I couldn't care less if they ever update the graphics), this is just absurd.

Insinuating that DD's main appeal is head to head play is like claiming MMORPGs are only for high end raiders. They are the loudest segment of the population, they get the most views on twitch, but they aren't the majority.

But that ties into your play your way concept. No single card should be locked behind offline modes, or online modes. If you want to progress through online or offline play only, you should be able to. Let people play the game how they enjoy it.

Mostly agree. I did enjoy the incentive to grind mini seasons earlier in the year to get the cards needed for the collections, but I get how online players hated that.

Overall, I just think that cards should at least be available on the market. That way if you don't WANT to do the offline grind (or online grind), you can buy the cards (just like in the MP program, WS cards, etc.)

There are so many different factions in the player base, I believe it is hard to please many of them, any of them or even a few of them.

Some are 10 years old, or younger.
Some are closing in on 60 years old, like myself.

The different factions play for different reasons. A lot play to prove to you how good they are. I don't care, at all, how good you are. Tell your Mom, she might be proud of you or reward you.

I, personally, play the game (a lot) because I love baseball and love video games. I love keeping up with players, with prospects and the draft, and a lot of other aspects of baseball to stay current.

I, personally, have been criticized for not being more negative about the game.

If you love the game, play it. If you are frustrated by it, then don't.

The game wasn't created to satisfy you, and you alone. There are probably 5 year olds that play this game and there are many players older than I am, 59.

I'm mediocre at the game. I can reasonably get to 500 each Ranked Season. That probably effects my lack of anger at the game. There are many aspects of the game I wish were better. Like, in my 700 hours, and thousands of packs, I wish I had pulled Ohtani or Judge. But, it is my choice to play.

Like the original post here, if it becomes too much, whatever your gripes are, stop playing.

Thanks to all for the constructive comments and for loving the game and wishing the game was better, for all of us.

100% agree with you. I'm 39, which I thought put me on the older side for this game, but after spending time on these forums, I'm starting to feel kind of young lol.

I grew up on Nintendo/Super Nintendo, so I think that gives me a different perspective. Complaints about graphics or "why wasn't my perfect swing a home run?" just don't hit me the same way. I grew up playing games with guys made out of 5 pixels. I also barely played video games through my 20s and early 30s, so when I came back and saw MLB the Show, I was blown away.

I have my own criticisms of this year's game, but it's still my #1 game to play. I enjoy both online and offline modes, and I play whatever I'm in the mood for. That's a big part of it for me: play the game however you enjoy it.

Can things improve? Absolutely. There's nothing wrong with constructive criticism. But if you're constantly miserable, crashing out and breaking controllers when things don't go your way, or feeling the need to cheat, exploit glitches or buy stubs from third-party sites, maybe it's time to find something else to play. I love baseball, I love video games, and this is how I unwind. If it stops being fun, I'll go do something else. But for now, I'm very happy with the game.
