We all know the game is not in very good shape so here’s my opinion on the issues.
Hitting- Not as bad as everyone is saying. You just have to learn to time it up better especially if using a tv and not a monitor (I’m using a tv) my biggest issue is the lack of base hits. After playing quite a bit online I’ve noticed that it’s either a home run, strike out or a lazy fly ball.
Pitching- I think pitching is totally fine, no pitcher ever can locate their pitches exactly where they want 100% of the time.
Fielding- wow is fielding awful, fly balls bouncing off my players head, taking their time getting the ball where it needs to go and my biggest issue is the relay throws. Absolutely no sense of urgency on relay throws. Guy on second tagging to go to 3rd my OF should not throw the ball in like he just fielded a routine grounder.
At the end of the day we just have to be optimistic that SDS will take care of these issues the best they can.

Agree 100%.
Though I would tweak pitching slightly. I would make it a larger gap with locating depending on user input with higher rated control pitchers and lower rated.
Small tweaks. This could be countered by also improving exit velocity for hitters to keep it fair. But yes, the real problem here is fielding. It needs a large patch. And a well tested one

Yes, I agree. Hitting isn't perfect, but it's issues are overblown.
-
I'm torn, I think they could buff accuracy more, but it's certainly not a dealbreaker to me if they don't.
Fielding is the only issue that makes the game not fun for me. I'm not touching ranked until it's fixed.

I'd agree with you on hitting. Hitting works fine. I wish they'd revamp the feedback because too many freak outs happen over what that says when it doesn't give enough information to tell any kind of story. Overall, I've had tough time with timing this year. Possibly because not only am I using a TV, it's a crappy TV. I don't hit all that many home runs, though. I do tend to get quite a few base hits that are more than just fluky popups. I do give up quite a few home runs, though. It seems that accounts for probably 80% of the runs I give up.
Pitching is mostly just fine. The problem I have with missing locations is that it tends to be missed in the middle of the plate. That could be pretty anecdotal, though, as I tend to notice those more while they're leaving the yard than the ball that goes in the dirt. Umpires are horrible, though. It's frustrating to dot a pitch, freeze a batter, get called a ball, then the next pitch meets their barrel and travels downtown. I was playing an event game, had a guy 0-2, threw the next 3 pitches which nailed the corners, all called balls. Next pitch, misses over the plate (theoretically shouldn't have but c'est la vie), and boom. Walk off. or go ahead home run, I don't remember...but that gets frustrating.
Fielding, I haven't had the same issues of getting hit in the head. I've tried to mention before that I tend to take different routes to the ball, and I've had success with that (of course, naysayers jump on to tell me that they're running perfect routes, which makes me suspect that they don't know what a perfect route actually is). Other than that, I've had a few errors here or there, nothing egregious. However...trying to catch a ball on the warning track or at the wall absolutely needs fixing. Even playing the ball off the wall, it tends to roll right past my player. And in games past, when the ball is hit to the wall, I've been able to catch it, but this year, it seems like they go right over my player, hit the wall, hit them in the back, then they forget how to pick up a baseball.
Didn't mean to get all verbose there, but overall, I agree with you, and I'm sure SDS is doing what they can to get it fixed. But if they rush it, we could end up in the same or worse position, and people will complain even more...which is just getting exhausting.

so how is a guy who is hitting .217 think hitting is fine? you also think pitching is fine....so any argument with you is probably pointless.

My two complaints with hitting are
- Their statement perfect/perfect avg was around .850. I have not found that to be anywhere near the case. Maybe .333 at best. Now that could have been a result of the hitting nerf that was put in place but that is a huge drop.
- Homeruns to base hit ratio. Far too often I have games that are 7-5 with around 15 base hits and not due to walks. I'd like to see what perfect/perfect flyballs as minimum for a homerun with a roll versus power stats looks like.

.333? You either have a selective memory of when things go in your favor or don't, or you're not keeping track of actual perfect/perfects.. it's more than half the time it's not an out and it's pretty obvious

We don't know that it is not in good shape. Maybe it's just had a bad couple weeks or months. Maybe it's just gotta get back out there again. Times are rough man and twinkies help.
Time for a bowflex, time to commit. Better days are ahead.

Right? It's honestly a good idea to keep track of perfect/perfects to reduce the inevitable negativity bias we all experience. It's much more likely someone remembers a perfect/perfect out then a perfect/perfect hit. That's just how our brains work.

@JDSCATPACK29 well I think hitting is fine because in my opinion it is. Just because I’m trash at hitting don’t mean it’s in bad shape. That’s on me.

Don't let him talk you down because of your average.
Honestly to me, that showcases more honesty. You aren't blaming the game for your .217 average. -

The hitting wasn't fine on release. But keep repeating that myth. People already complain about home run derbies now. If day one hitting was still here, that would be complaint would be magnified. You could look at a ball funny and it left.
Hitting isn't perfect, but it's far from bad.

Being trash as a hitter is much better than being a trash person who trolls on baseball game forums. I wouldn't worry about defending yourself it's obvious to anyone who is reading that guy is a living vicariously through his virtual baseball players too make up for his real life inadequacies.

I was hitting over .400 when the hitting was "fine" in your opinion, but go ahead and call me trash because you can't dismiss it any other way unless you insult me.
And no, it wasn't just on veteran.
