Hitting Moments
-
So, the Ozzie moment took me way longer than any other moment all year.
I tried power hitting, I even tried direction as a last resort instead of zone and finally got it when I switched back to zone on a just early that had no business going anywhere.
Thankfully none of the other moments provided much grief aside from the 3 strikeouts with Gaddis ([censored] Meidroth kept being contact jesus on the third out despite super low contact numbers).
Anyway, all moments done.

@NotesOfJohn_PSN I almost got it. I had the alternative camera but it was a foul ball. I’m doing bottom middle of the PCI.
-
Just got it using PCI at bottom middle.
-
@capardo_XBL my problem with that moment, took me 28 tries, no matter the swing, I was late on everything.

I thought the Ozzie one would be my biggest issue but Noel one oddly took me half hour

@JediEl1823_PSN Moments can feel very random. I got the Ben Rice 3 hit moment on the first try, but it took me a good 30 attempts or more to hit a home run with Alec Bohm.

@sbchamps17_NSW It's really chugging. They really need to go back to when you could complete a program by doing all the missions and skipping one (or two) of the moments.
-
Ryan Vilade, the ball is just dying, huge power right to the wall.... caught. Attempt number 20 coming up

Although historical, the Ozzie moment is diabolical. 74 power has me flying out to the warning track on perfect perfect fly balls on repeat. After wasting 20 minutes of my life I’ll never get back it’s time to come back later.
This is my biggest issue with moments. They are mostly just time sink in their current format. At most they shouldn’t require more than 3-5 attempts to complete so players can appreciate the moment, progress in the program, and return to actually playing the game.
Defeating a moment after wasting 30 minutes of time isn’t one of accomplishment it’s simply one of relief. Make moments easier to finish or give more missions to allow players to skip certain moments if they choose. Requiring them is not the way, especially when they are riddled with RNG and horrendous CPU pitching.
-
What’s weird about all these required moments to complete programs is that Spotlight programs this year (and I think ’25 also) require exactly zero moments to complete. Just play games without thinking/planning and you’ll eventually get complete every Spotlight program. I think the spotlights have been too easy but why can’t there be something in the middle. Bring back play your way! Bring back repeatable missions!
-
Yeah it’s strange. It’s not even that the moments are super difficult just very tedious time sinks where the CPU doesn’t throw strikes.
-
I was dreading doing the Ozzie Smith moment after reading about it here, but I gave it a try today. I am delighted that it only took me nine tries! I tried something that might work for others, but who knows?! I put it on directional, used power swing, and elevated every time. not sure if there’s something to this or if I just got lucky. But if you’re having trouble, give it a try. It’s worth a shot.

@markemark_NSW Good work, dude.
Glad you got it relatively painlessly.
I've been lucky with some of the more difficult ones, getting them super quickly, but yeah, this one grinded my gears.
