How To Get Around Batters That Keep Fouling Off Pitches?

Just had an inning where I threw over 40 pitches and conceded 3 runs because the batters just fouled off everything I threw regardless of how well I threw it.
I understand that some batters are incredibly good at covering the plate but this is getting ridiculous.
Very clear that when the game wants to score against you there is nothing you can do about it which makes user input feel irrelevant.
Is there something I can do to stop this happening so often? Throwing balls doesn’t work, they just lay off every time.

I usually just bean them and then strike out the next guy on three pitches. It's more satisfying than just walking them. It seems to release whatever situational code that is causing a batter to foul off everything. I've always believed that this specifically happens if you normally throw complete 9 inning games. It's the games way of having you get the hook by the manager due to high pitch counts even if you haven't given up hardly any runs.
