I am not a great player I would even say a below average player. I do have really good games sometimes but most of the time its a one run win. I actually am pretty bad with kluber. My first onlione game against him he got tagged for 4 runs in the first 2 innings. But I have to say these moments have been easy for me. Posada mashes like Lou an Jimmy mashed everything last year. Normally I dread hitting home runs as a moment but I found it very easy to get perfect perfect with him in several moments. Although I had a perfect liner right to the outfielder.

Also had kris davis make a diving grab to a sinking liner in left center field that he would never make in real life but that is just beating a dead horse at this point.

I cruised through the Kaline moments and didn’t have too much trouble with Jackie except for the 2 doubles. I cruised through the first four of Posada but the multi game ones are giving me trouble. I hit fine most of the time and then just hit a rut where I fly out deep repeatedly and I’ve come up one hit short several times.

To me, the Posada card is a perfect example of this game. I get plenty of hits swinging left handed (where he has more power) but can’t do much right handed (where he has more contact).

Reading this thread, I gave directional a try and it’s still not helping. Tell me how you can use directional, have good timing on a swing and completely swing through the pitch? How is that even possible? I timed it up, which is all I can do as a hitter in directional.

Also, the Mariners lefties throw so [censored] slow. I’m early on everything. And, again, it would be nice if the CPU would occasionally throw strikes. Tired of walking when the 4th ball isn’t even anywhere close to the zone to swing

Mine too. That’s what’s most frustrating I guess. I will be way ahead of the pace on the multi game moments and then I go on a bad streak of popping out to the track or grounders to first or third (with Dan Vogelbach making diving plays).

And why do relievers come out of the pen throwing their fourth best pitch and then their third best pitch? That never happens. Many relievers only throw two pitches, but I digress.

I just don’t get directional. How can I swing and miss at a pitch in the middle of the zone when I get good timing on my swing. Just had a hanging curveball that I was pressing up and the result was good-popped, a foul pop to the catcher.

    I got a pop-up at a warningtrack 😄
Yea...its...hard...guess we all have moments that we rockout easy and moments we struggle.
    But, can't give up 🙂

For me, when I swung with X I had better results than power swinging.

Other than that, just be patient as others have said and good luck

And use/practice zone hitting if you aren’t already. When I made that change in 17, it was like a brand new game for me

Im a zone hitter for years now 🙂
And thanks, i do my best and will finish them. Probably broken right hand is not the best helper, but hell, If i got hits on online games, i should be able to get them offline too.

One good thing, i get lot of xp doing those moments over and over 😄

Yeah this felt very RNG to me. My PCI placement was pretty good throughout. Lots of perfect perfect outs and then lots of perfect perfect hits. Felt like when it worked it really worked but when it didn't it was just awful. I finished it but it took longer then it should of based on my PCI placement.

If you're not using it already Directional hitting/Normal swing is your friend for these moments bud. As others have stated it's bomb after bomb with this card from both sides of the plate. The one where you play against the Mets I took 2 walks and hit 6 home runs, it was crazy.

Embarassed to say, but I dont know how to use directional hitting 🙂 Switched to zone in 17 and dont know how to work with directional anymore

Understood, I'm a zone hitter as well but for any of these moments I'll switch to directional just to get them over with. Even cards with limited power like gold Jackie Robinson magically discover their power stroke with directional hitting.

Anyway switch to directional and hold the stick straight up to influence a fly ball and just wait for something up in the zone and time it properly then watch it fly and then wonder why you don't use directional all the time 🙂

Hm, Ill finish my work and then give it a go 🙂

    Thanks for everyone.

Thanks for the tip. It has done wonders to help me. I did 4 posada moments and hit 6 homeruns. 1st 2 took one attempt, 7 total bases took 3 attempts but I jacked 4 homers during those 3 attempts

It's really just rng, just because I got something done in a couple tries doesnt mean I'm good, just because it took you two hours doesnt mean you suck. It's all 100% complete luck.

Just normal swing and sit on low inside fastballs. He is a dead pull hitter based on his shift, so just try to be a pull hitter

This...Posada absolutely obliterates pitches low in zone.
I noticed this trend after a few at bats.

I found that he has good power, my only gripe is that he is so slow. unless it is in the gap or over the fence he will not get an XBH. Anything down the line is a single at best.

Yeah, Posada for me is my Kryptonite.

I did the Jackie moments before they changed them without too much trouble, and same for Granderson. No real issues and just worked through them.....

Posada, currently over 80 restarts for the 3 hits 2 XBH on [censored] Rookie.....I can’t hit anything but line drives that fall right in front of the fielders and get singles.......the worse, when I get a good hit towards the gap, well, the fielder makes the catch.

    Pure Kryptonite.

I went back later and finished this. Turns out it was just the Mariners one that gave me fits. I was trying them in order without skipping ahead.

And then to almost rub it in my face am I playing in citi field for the moment at the mets....noooo we are playing in Shea its almost like a huge FU to someone who enjoys the history of the game and these moments because gameplay wise they kinda suck
