    Hi Guys, I’m new to flipping. Could someone explain to me why the app contributes to the overall bot/markeplace problem and why making transactions via console only is a solution? I’ve had success this season with the app although not very much the past few weeks. Flipping IMO is a necessary part of the game especially with the outrageous prices of some cards and transactional speed has at least given me a fighting chance. Thanks

    @PapaRick68_XBL The short answer is that the Bot's use an emulator to run the app on a PC. Since the app doesn't have the captcha like the website and is not cumbersome like the console when trying to place or modify lots of orders. It enables the bot to do so based on parameters that are set and do it in pretty much real time.

    Folks, this nonsense is precisely why real world trading venues, like the NY Stock Exchange, all feature tight control over the trading desk. Only a few highly regulated and vetted people are cleared to have access to the trading computers. Everyone else has to place a trade order, which is then ultimately processed by one of the relatively few people with that direct access to the trading computer.

    SDS has created a monster where an unlimited number of people have direct access to the trading system. Corruption by a few people can cause chaos in the system. SDS was warned of the danger inherent in the PC-based app. But, like with just about everything else, the leadership at SDS thinks they have all the issues figured out and don't need to take heed to feedback given to them by their customers.

    @PapaRick68_XBL all of the above is correct. Flipping is definetly an important part of the game and these bots have spread to every card with profitable margins and they monitor everything 24/7. Whenever their position is outbid, they instantly outbid and undercut. When humans are actively using the app they are able to delete bids and rebid and be aggressive - which can be fun when going against other humans. But we can only be locked into 1, maybe 2 cards at the same time. Bots are monitoring and acting 24/7. It’s totally unfair, to say the least. On top of that, the funds gained this way are sold off to people using 3rd party websites to buy stubs for a fraction of the retail price and those stubs get transferred to those accounts through market manipulation - corrupting the market even further. For reasons unknown, it’s allowed to continue. So here we are, making noise, acting like Karens, repeating the obvious, in hopes that sds will see this outrage and realize it’s in their best interest and ours to activate filters they have in place to block bots and restore integrity to marketplace and the game.

    @Oliver230230230_PSN Thanks for your take, Oliver. I never experienced flipping back in the day but it’s obvious something is very wrong.

    @DrBear100_PSN I think it would be a great compromise to allow the app to display current prices and listings, but make the actual transactions only facilitated on the console. That way we can see the data on app, much easier and faster than navigating the console menus, but have to initialize the transaction on the console.

    @Manu__SDS_MLBTS without telegraphic the playbook to the bad guys - can we expect something/anything to be done about the marketplace bots by the end of the day? Michael king Mexico card is 39k right now, which is sweet because I got 10x at 9k. But before my screen even refreshes with my sell bid, I’ve been outbid. So quickly that the lower bid shows on my screen at the time my bid shows up on my screen for the first time! Even if I try to bid 15k less then the lowest bid, instantly outbid. Is it some other loser wasting time in a bidding war over selling 10x Michael king Mexico cards for 1 stub less then another seller is? For 30 minutes? Or am I trying to compete with a bot that is programmed to win all buys and sells of a card to manipulate the market and grow their stubs, so they can sell them for a fraction of the retail cost and deliver them through more market manipulation? Their activity has spread across the entire marketplace. Every card. 24/7. Has this been brought to the attention of whoever makes decisions on what gets done behind the scenes for the game? If activating the filter that blocks bots isn’t going to happen, can rate limiting be introduced again at least? This is just so bizarre that nothing is getting done to remedy this. It’s been 6 months. If the filter can’t be turned back on today - can we get an idea of when this might be addressed again? I like spending my time on this game but it’s not so much fun when I’m resenting myself for wasting time trying to play a game that’s rigged.

    Forgot to mention… another reason I am asking if anything is going to be done about blocking bots is because I’m wanting to do a new round of investing and want to know if I should be evaluating future demand (especially collections), current and future supply, upcoming content/pack changes, historical price, liquidity/market activity, potential ROI after the 10% tax, and the downside risk if my prediction is wrong… or should I just continue to follow bot activity?

    If anything banning the players that bought 3rd party stubs has made the market even worse. The banned players are all starting alt accounts and buying cheap stubs from the 3rd party sites to get things quickly built back up. The 3rd party sites are likely seeing a huge spike in business from all these banned players now buying up stubs. So bots are now in overdrive on almost every card. Without IP bans for all guilty parties and shutting down the app and internet transactions permanently to halt bot activity this cycle will never end and only get worse. Pretty sad state of affairs they find themselves in. Complacency always has its reckoning.

    @TripleH-4481_PSN

    Bingo...with maybe the exception of shutting down the app.... but IP bans..... drop a couple of those on the worst offending content creators and make examples out of them, that would surly deter a gaggle of players.

    I don’t keep my finger on the pulse, but what has caused the market prices to plummet over 50% over the last few days?

    @SiberiaTigerCub_PSN

    Bots plus the game being released for free on PlayStation. Lots of new players are earning tons of free packs flooding the market. Then bots are locking down every card and killing all margins because the recent ban wave plus new players trying to get ahead are flocking to purchase cheap 3rd party stubs. The market is a complete dumpster fire at this point.

    Yeah, I have about 3 million stubs, so might use them to buy some cheap players.
