OK, how frequently have customers playing MLB The Show in RTTS complained about performing well above the team average and yet falling victim to SDS's ruthless use of the overall attribute level? Meaning, your avatar RTTS player was one of the best on the roster in spring training games, but was sent to the minors anyway.

Hundreds, thousands? Well, let's just say over the last several years the customer feedback on this concern has been far and wide, matched only by SDS's stubborn refusal to tweak the game code to recognize on-the-field performance more than established attribute level.

Compare this singular focus on how your competition is doing.

EA's NHL 26 in their Be a Pro mode (their version of RTTS), I just made the opening day roster for the Carolina Hurricanes with an overall attribute level of 77. For the entire 7-game preseason schedule, I was assigned to the first line and played well, being near the top in points, goals, and assists. After the final preseason game concluded, I immediately had a meeting with the team's GM. He verbally (meaning spoken words) told me I did the very rare thing -- made the opening day roster as an 18-year old rookie.

I was demoted from the first line to the third line, but there are four offensive lines in hockey. So, it wasn't like I was made the trail end of the roster. Meaning, there were three additional forwards on the roster (the fourth line) where all three players had higher attribute scores than my avatar player, but here I was on the third line, playing my secondary position of right wing (primary is center). Now, my avatar player is on a two-way rookie contract, so I'm certain if I fail to perform on the ice, my player will be demoted to the minors, but at least I have the opportunity.

The point to all this is that it was a balance of attribute level, experience, and performance on the ice. That's exactly what your customers have been asking to see happen for all these years.

Your competition has figured it out. When are you?

As they say, SDS, the ball is firmly in your court!
