Price Jump?

Huge price jump in last hour on seemingly all cards. What happened?
-
@macdaddy-o_PSN There was a roster adjustment. People who bet on cards going up are now cashing out and buying the lowest bids for the cards they want. This is making buy now price go up as the next lowest cards are now the lowest. This is causing people who choose to attain via sell now raise their bids. It happens all the time.

But why would that make already expensive cards like Ohtani and Judge go up over 100-150,000 stubs when those cards attributes and ratings would seem pretty static and baked in? What would change there? Or you saying people who invested in other cards and do those prices go up are now flush with a stubs windfall and ready to spend?
-
@macdaddy-o_PSN Okay. Ohtani and Judge are gatekeepers. They are the best players on the best teams and you need them to complete collections. So if I bought 20 cards of that Brewers pitcher a week ago for 3000 and today he quick sells for 7000 I have made 80000 stubs today. Multiply that by several other players I bet would go up and I now have a fresh bunch of stubs I didn't have an hour or two ago. So I go and by Ohtani and Judge to complete my collection. When I buy now the price of the cards go up because the lowest bid is now gone. It has zero to do with whether or not Judge or Shohei are now better cards.

THe supply of cards do not go up. But demand went up because so many more people had more stubs to buy the cards because of their investments. Since those cards (Ohtani and Judge) have low supply already the increase buying brought up the price of the cards. Thats why the worst time to buy cards is right after a attribute update.
-
Yeah, both great explanations in the posts above. It happens every attribute update, which is good to keep in mind because it can also be a good stub making opportunity if you have cards to sell.

The market in this game is wild - it reacts super quick. But it isnt very proactive - there can be a card thats obviously gonna tank in value in two days, and it will still be going for a lot. It doesnt anticipate well.
Its funny, theres all these investors crying that they cant make a profit anymore - yet look at how many people seem to have made today. The price increase tells you that.

Like, someone just paid me 400k for 92 babe ruth. Why would anyone do that? I know hes scarce and may be needed for collection, but thats a crazy dumb price to pay.
