Please help-- I'm so frustrated and confused.

Right off the bat, I'll be honest and tell you that I'm playing in Rookie mode. I am a casual fan and I just enjoy the RPG nature and building up my player in RTTS.
This is my first time playing the game.
I created a player went into the AA team for the Oakland A's and grinded out a decent couple of seasons and got called up to Triple A-- and then I made it on to the major league team.
I did really well as a starting pitcher-- I got my overall to 70 and even got a perfect game like 4 games in. Suddenly I get demoted to Reliever/Closer. My overall rating dropped to 65.
How is this possible? What did I do wrong? I simmed through a few seasons and got dropped back down into the minors- all the while telling my agent that I'd like to play as a started. Now I'm back in the majors (6 years later in game mode) as a Closer. My overall rating is finally back up to 72.
All I want is to be a starter again. My stamina is 74 and my durability is even higher.
Please help! I really liked the game I'm just annoyed that I only play one inning now.

Did the manager talk to you about switching roles? If so, usually that's temporary.

I am in the same position - the manager had a talk with me and I told him that I wanted to stay as a starter. That worked in AA, AAA and MLB.
My issue is that I have 1 no hitter under my belt, 1 perfect game but am ALWAYS being taken out of games in the 8th or 9th inning so I cannot finish them! I was taken out of the lineup 9th inning so I could not even complete my 2nd perfect game (it happened with the closer)
Most recently I was going into the 9th inning with 18 strikeouts, excited to see if I could get to 20 and I was taken out! there needs to be a discussion or an option to talk with the manager before this happens to have it not happen constantly.

I agree with that. In the meantime you just need to build up that stamina.
For extra bragging points I K'd 20 in a 9 inning game (pats self on back).

That happened to my starter, I just wanted to finish a game. I went to sliders and move the CPU Manager Hook all the way to the left. I now don’t get pulled unless the score is close and I get a couple batters on base. It worked nice for me and I feel it’s not really cheating

Honestly they should just take position switching out of the mode. I started a 3B the other day, was asked to play 2nd, got left there, called up by the Cubs, and they traded me to the Astros (kill me) 2 series in to my big league career. Now I’m stuck behind Altuve.

What the heck!It has to do with your stamina. When you are pitching just before delivery look to see how much enrgy you have
