Patrick Corbin Moments
-
Is anyone having any luck with these moments? I usually really enjoy the pitching moments, but with Corbin I can’t seem to get a strike out to save my life
-
I had to do one mission twice as I gave up a last inning 2 out 2 strike double with a guy on 1st after an error. It was my fault as I missed my spot. Otherwise, no issues. Replay of that mission was 9 ip, 2 h, 1 bb, 17 k.
I mixed all the pitches, including the curve. Change ups down and away, or in. Fastballs up and in, or 2 seamers down and in. Occassionally, 2 seamers off the plate up and in. Sliders mixed in.

Alternate high and in fastballs and low outside off speed. Take advantage of the fact that the CPU takes on the first pitch a lot. Whatever you do dont hang anything in the middle of the zone, because they will hit it hard.

Had Troubles against the last Padres Mission. They just hit everything. Finally got them to start chasing Fast balls up in the zone. Never threw a Curve unless the catcher called for it. Seemed like he hung more when I threw them on my own.

I've never even looked at what the catcher calls, lol. I would think the CPU would "know" what is coming if you throw what the CPU catcher wants you to throw. Probably just an irrational thought. I always throw the pitches and locations I have decided on for attacking each batter.
I found his curve to be effective when mixed down and in, and down and away. You have to make sure you're not early on release, and I almost* never put the cursor in the zone on curveballs.

I know, it really probably has no effect. Just a mentality thing. Just like I will never throw an Slider up and away to Joey Gallo with a Righty. No many how often my catcher calls for it! LOL In on the hands is one thing, but that outside slider is just waiting to hang.

I tired the first mission a few times and while I was getting hitters out, I could not strike anyone out.
Honestly skip the moments.
The online requirements are laughable....15 IP with D-Backs and 10 K's with starters.
Play a few event games with a D-backs staff and you should get it done in 5 or 6 games. -
I pitch him the way I would pitch price last yr. Basically low and away frequently. Then 2 seam up and in.
This breakdown will show ya how he uses his pitches.

This Giants mission is killing me. Billy Hamilton hitting no doubters.
-
Dude I gave up a No Doubter with 1 K left against the Padres. Ahh it sucked so much lol
