Is SDS Tone Deaf????
-
It's not the fact that you will be able to buy it cheap, it's the fact that average player can't achieve it, and if it's repeatable, you give the better players even more stubs as they grind it several times. Driving card prices up. Have to wonder about their motives.
-
@rageincage007_XBL this whole mode usually caters to the average player. It’s extreme moment it’s not suppose to be for everyone. That’s one problem with the community right there every thing has to a participation trophy. It’s not like you still can’t obtain this player.
-
@CoachPappy17_PSN I actually think they deserve credit for making it a sellable reward.

@goozefn_psn
So they are making it even worse. This is rewarding the Cheat code players with stubs... They will set their codes to run all night and win multiple cards while they sleep. Wake up and sell them while we spend countless hours grinding away hoping to get a diamond that we can probably sell for 3K stubs... -
@rageincage007_XBL Cmon, the average player, and any player under 40, should easily be able to do this. I am 50 and can complete this every time I try. And i dont even make WS in ranked anymore. If someone cant complete this easy Showdown, then just practice a little bit, you will get there in no time.
-
@CoachPappy17_PSN And then they will use their market script to post and repost their cards, but these jack wagons want to worry about that MS glitch that was fixed in a matter of hours, instead of the real problems that have been going on for Months, really costing SDS money.
-
I got him on my second attempt. It was by no means easy. First attempt I tied it with 4 outs to go. Had his pitch count at 140 and still lost. Second attempt I thought I was gonna lose again. Down 2 on my last out and scored 3. Pitch count at 150. It’s hard but doable if you’re patient.
-
Dude don't bother playing the showdown. Let these other momofaces waste their time with extreme showdown ans buy him on the market lol. F that
-
As someone who has slow reaction time that makes it difficult to enjoy Hall of Fame I don't think this is worth getting upset about. At least not taken in isolation.
However I hope that they extend the no sell cards to beyond just extreme content. Like the 22k pxp miniseasons cards. Make those repeatable and sellable too.
-
To be fair, I dont think 50 percent of players can do this showdown - I've seen how people bat on hof difficulty, its atrocious.
And I do worry about how many stubs elite players can make quick on this - its now getting 40k per card! This probably only takes 20 minutes per run if you're very good.
Im somewhere in the middle where im winning about half the time (maybe a bit more once youre warmed up), so the stub return is good but not insane.
I worry even MORE about how easy it is to just use a cheat script on this - like, thats infinity stubs, right????
-
@rubicante23_PSN wait the price is going up and not down? Ik it’s a (meta) pitcher and next L&FB is coming but that strikes me as odd since it’s a card people are grinding for
-
@On_a_Power_Trip_PSN yeah, we will see how it goes - if it stays high, I think it means the percentage of people who cant do this showdown is more like 80 percent, lol
But SDS will intervene and put out no-sell at some point, if that happens...
-
@rubicante23_PSN It’s pretty similar to DQ on goat. Maybe harder since those people are just bunting. I was able to beat it first try with about 5 outs remaining, but I wouldn’t be confident in beating it every time. I’d say if you can make WS, you could beat it more often than not, but it’s not for your average player.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN and it gets easier the more you do it. Pretty soon, I think you're in a rhythm where you'll only lose if you're super unlucky. Its just that he throws so many fastballs - this would be way harder with like Mike Mussina throwing. Or a pitcher throwing lots of sinkers.
Its still a struggle for me - its not like its easy. But there are plenty of dudes who I think can beat it quick without really even paying attention - for those guys, the stub return is astronomical.
Plus you get decent xp and pxp from doing it too...
-
Na this showdown was awesome, gives props to sds when due
I love this- if you’re good enough to earn him free you can. And if you’re not good enough to earn free you can buy
Just like DQ rewards. And it gives players that are good a chance to make some extra stubs if they want to repeat just like DQ!
As a person that likes to play higher difficulty modes like DQ to earn stubs as fast as possible- I wish SDS would drop new content just like this showdown much more frequently
-
@GodShammGod2_XBL 100 percent agree. Its not that hard to come up with cool new ideas like this showdown - they just do it very rarely
-

I am in general agreement that the program is a good idea, however it would be nice if they swung this the other way and allowed the casual grinders chances to sell cards too.
Its fine for skilled (or willing to cheese) players having more stub per hour potential, but mini seasons havent evolved enough for the casual crowd. We are still only giving out deluxe packs, not even choice, and all mini season/conquest cards are no sell
Again, letting people playing on HoF/Legend get faster stubs is fine, but they need to bring up the other side a bit as well. Theres too much RNG with show/non choice deluxe packs especially now that even most 90 live series dont sell for much.
-
@DemIsE4_XBL i know what you're thinking and i dont see it happening. When has sds ever done anything to prove to us that they are willing to punish anyone for anything other than buying stubs from a third party.
Can't a person have hope for a little bit? You're likely right but I like to do some wishful thinking from time to time. Especially with WC coming up. Going to be hard enough for me to get wins in the 7-800 range wherever I end up.

You do realize that probably less than 5% of players can make world series. I am 57 this year and 1-2 in trying this and I played D1 and minors. This is a lot harder than you think for most people. 15 runs on HOF against an outlier pitcher is no joke for the huge majority of players.
-
@DemIsE4_XBL agreed. especially cause most people dont play on good monitors and cant handle velocity. Its good to encourage more people to play above all star, though
