Why are check swings back?

I faced several players who check swing at every breaking ball off the plate with near 100% success. Its not bad enough that you can foul off changeups in the dirt or cutters 6 inches in on the hands, but now check swings are back in the game?

yeah, it's really frustrating when you basically get a player to swing at a breaking ball way off the plate, and for your reward...you get nothing but a foul ball or a check swing ball. it feels like you have no way to get a strikeout if that's gonna happen

Yes, I also can’t stand it. It’s mind numbing. Terrible gameplay.
