Kinsler XBHs?
-
He plays like a wet noodle so does Edgar once you get to him
-
I have found you get WAY better swings playing 9 inning games. For some reason, you just cannot hit well with Kinsler in his first at bat of any game. But the second, third, fourth times in the lineup, he rakes. I’m experiencing the same with Edgar.

@platewelder_363_MLBTS Yep, I have loved his previous cards but this one is brutal.
I have 3 of the 4 done now, but the moment it is done i will never use it again.
Easily the worst of the cards i have from this set, and that's including all of the noodle bats like Simpson and Yount.

As a cardinals fan I feel your pain. Couldn’t unlock Edmonds until that 4 xbh.
If you think Kinsler is bad, wait’ll Edgar Martinez
GL HF as they say

I have 5 homeruns with Edgar in two games with him…
️. Having no issues with him. If I make contact, it’s a homerun. It’s nuts! -
Isn’t it funny how we all excel at different players/swings? Kind of cool
I hated kinsler so much and tried too hard due to Edmonds being my reward
Which meant each time kinsler came to bat I’d be over eager etc
I’d get singles
Either way always put that guy leadoff for more bats til you get it

Mantle is the one I struggle with. Everyone loves him… and I can’t do [censored] with him. That’s frustrating to me! I may never get him this year, though, so it probably won’t matter.

Every environment is different with every player due to difficulty sliders they set per mode.
One guy feels way different in moments/diamond quest
Rakes in ranked / conquest etc
Most of it has to do with pitcher confidence
In 3 inning games you can’t get pitcher confidence low- which weirdly enough pitcher confidence makes your players even play like a-holes
It’s an overpowered stat that literally controls everything that doesn’t show up on anyone’s stat line
Pitch confidence on top of that makes you unhittable. Throw 3-4 strikes or fouls with a pitch to gain that confidence (for your pitcher) then just dominate
If your pitcher confidence is sub blue bar immediately change pitchers
The CPU stacks that [censored] up on you fast in showdowns diamond quest etc, as do real players
A full “pitcher confidence” turns any batted ball into a medicine ball or a shot put of dead ball
And on the flip side you as a hitter if you get them lower in confidence you start no doubting everything and they make errors
Pitcher confidence makes every other stat obsolete

@JDHalfrack_PSN Thanks man.
I did work that out late last night, but yeah, still not helping sadly.Got one XBH so far.
He's got a terrible swing.
Nasty work needing four XBHs with him.
Download the HR Derby stadium and use it in mini seasons. You might get a a few cheap HRs that way. You might also give up a few as well… lol
This, I have 2 home runs with him in 2 games, one at ny HR Derby park (my team is crushing home runs) and one in Lima, the WBC Tatis card is a monster as is the Cityscapes Ian Happ
-
To round out the thread, I eventually got the four done.
It took 47 ABs.I hit .319 with him, for 15 hits, 2 homers and 2 doubles.
Nightmare fuel.
-
I was able to get those fairly normally timewise, but I would quit the games and take the game losses everytime I didn't lead off with a XBH. Got Jimmy for my Cards team
-
It doesn’t help that the pitchers are dotting the corners and throwing 102mph on your hands even on rookie. In my opinion you only get a handful of pitches to drive each game.
That and the cpu throws strikes about 17% of the time.
Rookie CPU pitch log: sinker, sinker, splitter, sinker, change, splitter, change, change, sinker, sinker, sinker, sinker, sinker, sinker, sinker… -
Nothing seems like computer dots like you wanting XBH or total bases from your batter. Usually you’ll get HBP or walked or strike out just trying to gap something
It’s easier to just throw on music and ignore who’s at the plate or it’s a constant curse
Sometimes it’s even better to put the person you want to get the XBH lower in the lineup after the pitchers been worn out a bit. Like cleanup or 5th
I prefer to put said person at leadoff so they have a chance to bat twice (since in mini seasons you mostly play at home)
