Mistakes like this happen, no big deal.
But my problem is how can Gavin Lux get a 90 OVR card while Nick Madrigal gets a 95?
In what universe is Madrigal a better prospect than Lux???I do not like these "fake" prospect cards with bloated stats, but this is crazy.
Chill out, we’re getting a 95 overall Gavin Lux next week. With a 102mph sinker.

Can't wait for Kopech with a 200 mph fastball and a 60 mph bugs bunny change up

Wait until July for the 99 Lux with 125 everything.

This is absolutely stupid now.
So, we get a 95 Madrigal future stars card after already having an 86 prospect card. And now we get a diamond Gavin Lux, but he’s a 90 prospect and not a future star?
Why are we still getting “prospect” cards if we’re getting overly juiced Future Stars cards of the same players at the same time?
This is basically the complete opposite of 18 content-wise, but I think it’s just as bad. They’ve gone too far now.

This is 18 level content bad, but in different ways.
At this point I would have preferred a Postseason 95 OVR Jack Parkman.
"Parkman doing his little shimmy, it makes the women in Cleveland want to puke"

Would have just as much merit as these cards lol.

I’m guessing lux/Franco/Robert/adell/mize/kopech/Pearson will get FS cards that are in the 96-99 range based off the ratings of the current FS cards compared to their prospect cards.
-
Feel kinda sorry for all of the people who did the collections and locked in all of those expensive prospect diamonds, only to see better versions come out 2-3 weeks later. Crazy.

But we will have to wait until November/December for card that deserves a 99..Mike Trout.
We can't blame this on the virus either, because Live series cards would never get this sort of upgrades.
Just give me a 99 OVR JJ Bleday card so I can add him to my all Marlins team.

Well duh. Every one of them is clearly going to be better than Trout in a few years time, who can barely crack 96 overall, yet somehow manages to get a 99 overall flashback every year even though he’s currently in his prime. Can’t wait to get that 99 Trout and prestige it to a 99 Trout. Gonna be fun!

Oh without question. It’s funky that the best player to ever play baseball is in the peak of his prime and somehow can’t be a 99 LS. It makes 0 sense to me too.
I’m looking forward to seeing the FS Dylan Carlson and Wander Franco (born in STL, but grew up in St. Pete, so Cardinals and Rays are my teams).

Curious as to what @allmustfall16 thinks about all this, since I know he got Franco.

It's not like this doesn't happen every year where there is a collection that is super expensive then they release something new that tanks that market and makes that collection half the cost it was.
Early adopters will always pay more

It’s upsetting for sure. I really do love that Franco card though. He’s been great for me and before him I had a hard time hitting out of the short stop position on my team. I bat him 8th and he punishes people down there. Think in like 100 at bats so far he’s around .330 with 8 HRs for me. I’ll take that batting 8th.
I only like MLB because the rest of the team building games have gotten out of hand. Especially NBA 2k.
I have always been able to count on maybe one weaker card early and then their end game card at some point for players in this game. Anything more than 2 and it just means you lose value in your stuff and you’re always feeling like you have to catch up.
Future Stars shouldn’t include any of the current prospect cards. And the headliner tomorrow shouldn’t be rated as high as LS Trout. That’s bad for all of us.
I really hope SDS listens to the community on this. I feel like the majority of everyone else. I don’t like my cards being tanked on purpose. Especially this soon. Longevity should be what SDS should want, for us to play this game all year. This type of stuff makes people quit the game early.

True for sure, but I don't think I've ever seen it happen within 3 weeks (getting a better version of cards that had been in expensive packs.).
P.S. Really glad I did not buy any of them....but I will be buying Lux off the market at some point. Curious as to what his price will be

I get that, but this is different. They’re just releasing the exact same players for no reason. And it’s not like we’re talking about Finest cards at the end of the year, the full prospect set has only been out for a few weeks and we’re already getting new versions of them.
The prospect cards should’ve been the highest those players got this year. There’s no reason for SDS to release even more juiced up versions of the same players when they haven’t even done anything.
I could understand if the season was happening and one of the prospect guys won player of the month or something, but there’s no reason for any of these we’re getting now. It’s pure laziness, and even if they are TA cards, it’s still scummy.

Exactly. Forgetting for a moment that there's no way that card should be a 95, if they had put out a Legend or flashback set this week and then put out future stars in july or August I could cut them some slack. This is like putting that Hanley card out and then before the inning program ends putting out the real card everyone wanted with the speed and the stance everyone likes.

As a side note, didn’t they create Signature Series cards last year for this very reason? So people wouldn’t invest heavy on cards, only for a better version to be released soon after?
-
Maybe this is the next incarnation. They will be making fake cards of players out of position with maxed out ratings. I know FIFA did that this year.
I realize this is probably a mistake, but man, imagine if it isnt.

Dont give them ideas.
