If I was a dev of a game like this, I'd devote one day every week to nerfing the meta techniques that people use to exploit the game. Instead, almost every game like this encourages the meta - they know that, if they put in measures to nerf a lot of the techniques, so many people will immediately cry about not being able to use their patented cheese.

Posts about meta usually get a ton of responses saying "ah, meta is overrated - just mix up strategies, and get good the all-natural way!" Sure...and any good player who says that goes right into their Ranked game and pulls out all the meta tricks in the playbook.

There's the stuff we all talk about - switch hitting, and cutter-sinker, and all the meta players who everyone uses. Then, there's the shadow deep meta employed by the mean motor scooters who are going flawless in BR. You're hitting line drives into gloves even though you're right on pitches, but they are getting jammed and slicing singles all over the yard like they're shaving ham at the deli.

Yeah, you know someone is stupid good at the game when they start by taking every ball and swinging at every strike....then halfway through, they get tired with that and they start routinely getting hits by swinging at pitches that are balls.

I’m amazed at how many people come up looking to walk. I usually just quit those games.
