The most boring edition of DD yet?

SDS will never win here because we all want different things from the mode.

I feel the game has settled into the grind to get stubs to buy cards cycle that made last year's game dull. The whole concept of "grind 99" is gone at this point (granted its always been a pretty dumb slogan to begin with) and now its login for a couple hours every week, complete the week's content, and then grind for stubs to buy cards to complete collections.
And as others have alluded to, the stub grind is RNG dependent. So if you spend an hour and 15 doing a miniseason run and only get a 400 stub gold from your 10+1, it feels like you wasted time. There are no medium, let along long, term guide for cards directly outside of the lone TA drop.
And I still don't understand why people like innings at all. One of the most boring battle passes I have ever seen.
I want more interesting (interesting to me, some would say tedious) grinds again, but that makes me no longer the target audience for this mode which sucks for me but is good for others.

WBC has 100% carried so far this year. I will stand by this till I decide to put away the ps5 for good one day mlb has not been casual since pre Fortnite. Fortnite ruined video games as we know it and made them all about sweating and grinding things out. Which post Fortnite has made every gaming community very toxic just my opinion but mlb was much better in the earlier titles like the show 18 19 for example. or if u wanna go back even further before dd was even a thing like for example my first shows as a kid 08/09/10 those shows where rly fun no grinding at all. Just casually pick up my controller or at the time psp and just sit on the couch on my weekends home from school and just do a franchise or homerun derby what I would give to go back to that . Simple times.

DD is unquestionably the casual ultimate team mode.
Much less grinding, exponentially less fomo, less forced difficulty offline, etc
Toxicity in gaming is everywhere. MMORPG communities are pretty tame these days (especially non WoW ones) compared to gaming in general. Mostly because there hasnt been a good MMORPG released in over a decade. Check out the gacha communities if you want to see some absurd toxicity

@Teak2112_MLBTS as somebody who plays all ultimate team mode dd is by far the most casual I can agree with that.

I’ve completely givin up on 2k don’t think madden will be on the agenda this year both way to big of money grabs and toxic

Last 13 mini seasons runs I have got 3 diamonds totaling 26k and that is pulling PCA on my 13th run. I'll keep playing because I love baseball but as far as rewarding, this game is not. After selling pretty much everything I can and doing everything I can I finally finished A.L. Still need like almost every diamond on N.L. which is what 1.2 million (haven't done the actual math but it is a lot). At the rate of my last 13 mini seasons runs I would need to do about (1.2 million/30k for diamonds, golds, etc/13 runs) 3,076 runs if my math is correct. That is beyond ridiculous. I have also done every TA (not #1 fan) to 100%. Maybe a math guy can tell me if that is correct. This pretty much proves my statement that if you don't spend money, get extremely lucky pack pulls, flip or can do 10 win br runs, it is extremely difficult to do the collections. Maybe DQ is the best mode with my pack pulls but I can't stand playing a mode for what 2 hours and maybe getting nothing.
As far as events, I would like to see some creativity. Like all silver, gold, live series only, etc.

Its supposed to be extremely difficult to do live series, I think people are a bit too obsessed with finishing it in April or May.
SDS does need to do a better job to ensure Tulo is still a top card by the end of August though. Which we all know wont happen since they dont juice these cards like they do later 99s
I guess this highlights that the Live Series collection is itself stale, but its also one of the key identities of the mode and probably 50-75% of SDS's revenue for the mode

@cusejuice315_PSN I agree with you. The mods were a great idea!! It’s a great way to make live series cards relevant until July 4 at least. That’s usually when they start dropping the all star cards.

Your math seems a little off
1,200,000/30,000 =40 runs
Unless I misunderstand your numbers

Honestly the most hours I spent on a season of MLB the Show was when they had a large variety of missions for Team Affinity, and you could play March to October to grind points for TA. I think I played every franchise in MtO that season, it was so fun trying to win with underdogs, and play a franchise without having to spend a billion hours on it like Franchise mode. Last year TA took a huge step back and this year it seems even thinner in content. When you have crappy programs like the Egg Hunt this year or stretches of lack of programs it's nice to have a monster grind to fall back on like TA used to be. I don't play online, the one game I tried it last season I lost like 20 to 0 the dude hit everything no matter where I pitched. I'm just bored with this one already, no MtO, TA feels like I'll have it complete in a month, Egg Hunt is down to buying extremely inflated Yepez or Puk to complete, everything else is done. I hate to say it as a long time MLB the Show "subscriber" this may be my last year.

That would be if I was getting 30,000 stubs per run which over the last 13 runs I am probably around just over 2k per run. Last 13 runs have been absolutely brutal and making me question my life decision on continuing to do them. I keep saying next one but the next one hasn't happened.

I think my point is you need a lot of luck too (or flipping, spending money, 10 win br runs). Just playing the game obviously doesn't do it. Been saying this for a while. At this point I think I would be better off shifting from LS to the other collections unless I pull a Judge or Ohtani. I would have the other collections done if I wouldn't have done the A.L. LS. The N.L. without pulling one of those 2 will just take entirely too long and feel like I haven't accomplished anything. That's my $.02 especially having done all the TA's which limits the packs I get.
At my current mini season pace, I would have to do like 40 runs just to get a Soto. Highly unmotivating and feels very unrewarding.
