HOW did get to a point where ONE LS card is 700K?
-
Live series cards should be free since everyone of these players will have 99s. They drop so much content through the season will will still buy stubs to get cards to flip etc.

@LIONED-33_XBL my main concern with the flaws is it’s continuing to get worse not better. I can get past flaws while seeing improvements every game has flaws especially early that’s just part of it but the trend of just going backwards lately is the most concerning it has major online issues due to new programs coming out because of AI which really isn’t on the game because it’s so new but it’s unplayable online to the point that the biggest streamer in the game decided yesterday that he’s simply not gonna play it and take a stand. And their solution? Create a random app restriction un announced to [censored] off the other half of the player base heading into a holiday weekend these people have no clue when they will get there access back. Sunday they will all go spend time with family in which case they may talk about games and just decide there done play this one. Like it’s not even 1 step forward 2 steps back it’s just straight back that’s most concerning

I 100% don't disagree. Its too bad too, because when you actually play or get to play the game play is really good. its everything else that [censored] the bed. You're right they fix one thing and 3 other things break. Take shrinking sliders....they removed them...nope. They were put in the game to help with the foul balls as they say...guess what its not just sliders, its sinkers, curveballs, splits/forks, and foul balls are still awful.
If they dont get this under control, they'll be done far before the All-Star Break where most players fall off becuse madden or College football is out.

I’d say less than that most of what I’m hearing in various twitch streams from user comments is there patience is going to last until the end of the first inning which is fair my major concern with that is we already know weekend classics not going to go well personally I already know this so it’s not going to make any changes for me personally but I think that’s when the fall offs going to take a huge nose dive

I would assume the online player base is down, but the offline player base is probably putting more time into it than past years simply because its far more rewarding than past years. Its night and day.
Last year I would just finish the conquest maps and mini season once, and then go play something else. There was nothing to do because the repeatables for miniseasons were [censored], and DQ sucks.
This year with the WBC miniseason being so quick and rewarding I'll typically run through that once a day, sometimes Ill do NT as well which is also quick. Not to mention im still having fun using all the WBC cards
The Shohei thing really is difficult to explain.
Packs are certainly WAY up, I would be shocked if they werent up by 300% or more. The rate hasnt changed, so supply is up.But Shohei held at over 600k up until I think January or Feb, so the demand is there long term. So the increase in supply isnt dropping his price. And of course more people are holding him this year.
The other impact this has had is any card that isnt live series is cheaper. That Trout card, given it is a special insert of a quite limited pack and arguably the best non "red diamond" card in the game wouldn't have ever been as low as 70k in past year. Its going up now because of no new ones entering the marker, but i was shocked at how cheap it was. Ted Williams is relatively cheap. People are clearly going all in on live series.
And none of that makes sense because everyone complained that Tulo wasn't an exciting reward

One reason is who the 2 gatekeepers are.
Ohtani has won every mvp except the year judge hit 62 homers, judge has won the mvp except for the years Ohtani did, last year was one of the best years for Ohtani and last year WAS Judges best season, both are healthy and showing indications that they will have another monster season -

Even going up to a 93 won't have a drastic impact on their value.

Agreed. Investments have to be as close to qs at purchase price as possible to be viable for most people. Hardly anyone is grabbing those two for investment reasons.

Not to invest, but it's a guarantee that they will be good the whole year, won't go down , so the demand is extremely high cause ppl know they won't go down and ppl will hold to get the best price when selling, so the market will price stays high, also less likely to relist when selling, and ppl are very aggressive with relisting when trying to buy

@Teak2112_MLBTS How is what he's posting nonsense? When you create an economy like they have, which is limited by SDS new caps, you have issues like this. Another good example? Look at the recently released Spotlights. You buy the packs you instantly lose 5k. The best cards in that pack are selling under pack prices.
You think they want this? They didn't think it through, and we get to work through this mess with them. This year has been a disaster class. One bug after another and a manipulated market. Just awful stuff so far.

The cards selling below pack prices is a function of the LS collection existing. Every piece of advice on the internet (and that advice is correct) is to sell everything and focus on live series (specifically the high diamonds). This is what drives down the prices of cards that should be “exciting”. The only way for SDS to fix the mess they created is to get rid of the LS collection at launch in future releases.
-
While an intriguing idea, it still wouldn’t fix the issue since we would all still just be going after the collection knowing it’s eventually coming. They’ll NEVER get rid of LS collection, it’s their main money maker early in the cycle. They need to show early profits to keep the budget going for the next iteration.
-
@SavageSteve74_PSN if that’s true, then explain every other ultimate team game (none of which have a collection for 99s at launch).
The other two answers are:
A) ban flipping (various ways to do this and perfectly acceptable since flippers are simply exploiting an inefficient market)
B) greatly increase supply of all high diamonds -
@Teak2112_MLBTS Funny thing about Tulo up until he was announced as the reward....everyone was begging for him to be put back in the game....he's put in the game and now he isnt a worthy LS collection reward lol.

-
This is the business decision SDS made years and years ago, they aren’t like the other sports games run by 2k and EA, they went in a direction they felt was better for them. If SDS were to get rid of LS collection, then they’ve made the decision to juice profits through packs, then we get into EA territory of having to spend 1000s of $$ for the top tier cards only available in packs and can’t be bought or sold. And all this uproar over flipping and bots will be rendered moot since it won’t be available.

Spotlight cards were never exciting to people who care about meta. Every once in a while we get a Coulombe out of them, but in general they are collection fodder. I bet once they announce the retro lightning those cards end up above 25K...until mid May when they release april packs again
The main reason they fell so low is everyone gets a free pack and the rates are actually fairly decent for the spotlights so lots of people are dumping them with their program reward
