Flipping
-
I think most of you guys don’t understand why this happening,
People don't understand because SDS has been silent about it. Although no matter what the reason people will still be upset.
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS exactly being upset at there choice is one thing. Being upset at there lack of communication on the topic is a completely different thing. I definitely fall into the second category
Here. -
@jcassaro44_PSN While I get the 20 orders each, buying and selling cards on the app is what it's for. To only limit it for people that are using it to flip - that's a load of BS. It's part of the game and SDS makes 10% from sales + has screwed over many people with their "buy all for collection" feature which is quite literally buying dupes and stealing stubs.
You also can't make this type of change and not tell people about it. If you want to "limit" it, you need to have a counter so people can see how many cards they can buy and sell.... and even that is lame AF.
Quite literally they are ruining this game. One thing after another.
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS Yes, generally people get upset about being punished when they didn’t break any rules.
-
@jcassaro44_PSN have they set a limit on flipping..have they ever said there is a limit...they can't just punish people for something that is not against the policy.. that's just idiotic.
-
The people that abuse it and use bots, ruin it for everyone. Place your anger there.
-
@Busta-21_XBL Punish those people then.
-
@Busta-21_XBL while I agree with you ..the way the company is handling it and treating it's customers is beyond bizarre.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN exactly. And if SDS can't differentiate between bots and humans, then perhaps they need to invest in some better platforms.
-
All these problems started with the introduction of the app. Shut it down until they can put a better system in place.
-
@aaronjw76_PSN The app has been great for this game. What a dumb take.

Disagree but I won't insult you for your opinion.
-
@aaronjw76_PSN Well, when people suggest things that move this game backwards, they deserve to be insulted.

As someone who flips millions.... the GAME is not the market. The app is not the GAME.

This is by far the easiest and simplest solution. I complete LS collection every year I’ve played. I don’t buy stubs, I don’t flip like a maniac, I play the game that rewards a sh*t ton of free stuff that I can either sell to buy what I need or add to the collection.
We get it, there’s a segment of “players” that want to just make a game out of flipping and investing, that’s great, if they get rid of the market on the app and website, you can still do that, on your console.
But, but, I want to do it while I’m at work or sitting on the couch. Guess what, you still can, it’s not hard to figure out how to setup your console for remote connection and play on the market.
SDS should’ve communicated this better, there’s no arguing that, but to get upset that the MLB game you bought has decided to make it more about the MLB game, you can’t be that upset. Don’t like it, don’t buy it. If that many people don’t buy next year, they’ll change back.
-
@SavageSteve74_PSN honestly I'm not upset that they are trying to fix it or whatever..if that is what is going on...what I am upset with is how they are going about it
-
@jcassaro44_PSN This is not how a healthy economy works, and it's getting old reading these types of responses. A healthy econ will have buyers and sellers working together to set a market price. Without that, like we are seeing now, we have high end diamonds completely running out of control super early into the game cycle. There is nothing to keep those prices down, and they will continue to climb until they become so restrictive that the only way to get them is to bust out that credit card.
And really, that's what they want. They want to squeeze. They want us to run to the store and buy buy buy. If that's what you want to do, feel free, your money, not mine, but we've never had that in this game before, and now we do, with no communication. That leads to an uncertain market, and in that type of market there are two outcomes.
The Haves, and the Have Nots.

I AM one of those people and can concede (because I have a brain and use logic) that the app is what has allowed the infiltration of marketplace bots and a stagnant economy

I think people didn’t understand what I was saying, basically SDS wants you to play the baseball game and earn stubs by playing a baseball video game, not playing a stock market simulator app game while sitting on your couch watching Netflix and doomscrolling. That’s the main reason for a lot of this change you’re seeing, that and they are a business and want you to buy stubs. I know it’s unfair to NMS players, I’m not sticking up for SDS here, but too many people inflate their stubs by not playing the game and it makes the market unhealthy.
-
This is a straw-man argument. This isn’t a free and open market, it’s a closed and controlled market. SDS 100% controls every aspect of it, they control the supply side, they control the demand side, it’s manipulated by them and always has been and always will be, because it’s their product. Up till now, they’ve let it loosely be used to hoard stubs, but they’ve reached their limit for some reason known only to them.
