Do they do anything?? I remember in past years, they would display the batter stats during an AB. Now, they just show the name of the team.

Yeah, they were at least in MLB 25 able to display stats, game scores, and team names and logos. Since I am boycotting SDS due to their malicious actions toward Stadium Creator, I cannot test this out. But, I trust your description is accurate. Therefore, this appears to be another mind-numbing blunder in the code.
This is just like how for reasons never explained, the strike out meter prob went from functional to disabled.
These guys cannot carry out even minor code changes to the game without causing seemingly unrelated adverse issues. This is clear evidence of game code poorly written, lacking in proper documentation, as well as inadequate modularity to allow intended code items to be amended without harming other code actions.

Under the furnishings. There are three. Curved, large and small.
They show flashing displays and graphics.

They still work in game, as does the strike out meter.

PS5? Seems like one more thing that's busted on Xbox.

If you play a game they don't do anything on Xbox?
In stadium creator mode, on Playstation anyways, they'll only display whatever team you have set as your favorite. But in a game they display different things. I've watched a few streamers that play in Xbox and there's seen to be working alright. -
During the game when someone is at bat, they just display the team name and logo. Between innings, they display away team logo VS home team logo.
In past years, when you were at bat, they would display the player's name, avg, hr and rbi. And other things like flashing home run and other stuff.
