SDS: Why are bots in the marketplace allowed?
-
@tear4eddy_PSN No human is capable of removing an order and placing a new order within a fraction of a second...without some sort of tool or macro or bot. If you're a really quick human, you might accomplish it in 2-3 seconds.
-
Because I tested it multiple times this morning at 6am on a Spring card pitcher Sloan. It was almost comical. Once I posted 800 to 1000 more stubs it stopped. When I then delete that amount and put another buy order for a few stubs more, instantly I was 1 upped.
Well, I think that sort of goes against your point. A bot would blindly one up. A rational human would what for that overpriced bid to go through and post a lower one.

The bots exist. When you run into one it’s obvious. I’ve also found where one can download and deploy one. I don’t do it, but I found them as confirmation.

@LHUBison58_XBL yeah definitely wouldn’t recommend it good thing ur not can lose ur account over

Add in menu times to scroll to a player we’re talking 5 minutes per card sold in this iteration, as a human. It has to be bots there’s no other explanation.

@jeffstified_XBL Wrong man, You're not fully grasping the simplicity of this scenario. But its ok, im working at the moment and don't have excess time to dumb it down again.
If people don't believe or even try to argue against it then I next would assume you're one of the people using some bot to purchase cards for you.

@Onix_Savage22_PSN I didn’t ask for advice. I’m a big boy and know the rules. As I said until I saw one I didn’t believe it. Call me Thomas, but I had to put my fingers in the holes on this one.

What makes you think those are bots doing that? I’m a person and when I list something to buy/sell, I’m almost always doing exactly what you’re describing. And I’m just a dude playing game and I have to think there are 10’s of thousands of other dudes doing the same thing. I think you’re confusing a rational market with a bot and I doubt that’s true. Not even sure what a bot would gain by doing what you’ve described.
This is America where capitalism is the order of the day. Take that pinko commie ball back to red china, they'll squash those bots for you.
Greed, for lack of a better word, is good. -

LMGDAO base ball is serious bidness. There's no time for dating, lol.

I think you just need to look at the margins between buy and sell. They are almost always dead on 10% give or take. It's no coincidence. Of course SDS don't want you making profit of any kind, I've given up trying to grind stubs and just focusing on practising on how to fit fly balls to the outfield.

I don’t think the bots are any worse rhan previous years, but the 20 card limit makes them spread their bots across many many cards. In other years you would get annoyed by having to fight against constant undercuts and move to another card. Now there is no other cards, since bots are forced to work on so many cards.
I also think that there are a lot of “bots” that are just a few people (more than 1 other person) canceling and placing bids against one another. Who among us hasn’t been guilty of constantly underucutting someone else?
The 20 card limit was intentionally introduced to make flippers compete on many more cards instead of passively putting in 200 orders. It means all cards are much more competitive, driving margins down.
Gaming companies have been fighting bots and cheats for years and it’s rarely a battle they actually win. I want to see them remove the 20 card cap. If that happens, I’d be shocked if the complaints of bots don’t start to go away.
I am also worried that any changes to combat bots will make flipping much worse for the average person. In madden there are a ton of false bans for actual people flipping. I could also see them adding CAPTCHA to the app in an effort to fight “bots”. That would effectively kill all flipping.
Tin foil hat has me thinking they almost want the bots to run rampant so that they can “combat the bots” by absolutely destroying any chance of making profit in the market.
