    I would lean 16, just seems like a perfect balance with the hitting and pitching...

    17 is a good version, few glitches with the new hitting system they implemented, but overall that’s a good choice...

    2020 of course, its less arcady and casual noobs hate it, which is a good thing in my book.

    I’ve played every year since ‘16 and while they’ve had issues, I’d say from best to worst probably;

    1. ‘17 (Top spin and late hits)
    2. ‘19 (Issues a plenty for the first 6 weeks, too much RNG in the gameplay, but the content was just so good and almost all free just for playing)
    3. ‘16 (Bunt Cheese, runners always reaching passed balls and ghost tagging)
    4. ‘20 (Everything is broken in one way or another so far, mostly fielding, but hitting and pitching are no great shakes either)
    5. ‘18 (So bad it’s still behind a game described as “broken in every way”, everything was awful. The content may be the worst I’ve ever seen, from souvenirs to the depressing lack of line up variety, the gameplay introduced a lot of the rng elements we’ve come to hate for the very first time, high pop flies were the most common hit type throughout the entire lifespan of the game and pitches were so slow, watching a curveball travel to home plate was roughly equal to watching the sun rise in the east, slowly meander across the sky, before setting in the west again. Roughly 10 hours from the pitchers hand to the plate.)

    16 bunt cheese was an online thing right ? Never had any offline issues with that, although I never tried to exploit it ... 18 I thought played decent in franchise mode offline, after all the patches...

    I Also like 17 because it was the last one w/ season mode. I'm tempted to reinstall it. Are there updated rosters for 17 out there still?

    I remember in 17 when our biggest issue was that Griffrey could only hit HR because of his obserd top spin. Good times

    No idea, but the servers are still up. I played ‘17 online last week and the marketplace, event and everything was still running.

    Glad you like it, but a lot of people don’t feel this year is very good with the gameplay issues...

    17, Although I’d say content wise ‘20 could give it a run for its money if they just fixed... well everything I guess. If good/okay got fixed, pitching was more reasonable and fielders could make even simple plays consistently I’m pretty sure this would be my favorite version. also, FWIW 17 was my first year playing DD

    I'd say 17 because at that time i wasn't heavily as competitive and i started to become a decent player. Its between 19 and 17. In 19 i made it to the 1000 ratings in ws and played some of the top players in the game so maybe one of those two

    You feel that way even with all the gameplay issues so far this year ? I never found any version of the a show to be arcady, it’s always leaned towards sim baseball ...
