Market Bots
-
By doing nothing, SDS is saying using a bot is OK and there will be no consequences. I guess if you want to compete and be able to use the market, use a bot.

The 20 card cap is stupid but it isn't going to make bots worse, it honestly just doesn't really impact the bots at all. Having an order cap would limit the bots, but I just can't understand why their policy would be to place restrictions that impact the user rather than just banning bots from the market and going after third party stub sellers in court. Activision is far from a shining example, but their approach to going after people using exploits was to go after the cheat sellers AND implement a system for detecting cheats and banning accounts. SDS should be applying the same concepts here...but should be able to execute better as the problem isn't nearly as severe as cheating in Call of Duty. If they do nothing, it won't be long before there are 500 bots fighting each other for orders and the market is completely pointless. If I had internal access to who's placing what order, I could find the bot accounts in 5 minutes. Simply place an order on a profitable card, and watch within a fraction of a second as 2 orders get placed 1 stub above yours, and then review account data to see that account has placed an impossible number of unique orders...more than a human could do. They could have AI doing that and flagging accounts for a human to review/ban...them not doing it means they don't care

@Wolfski0412_PSN yup they are real but and even though sds supposedly put the 20 card limit to combat bots and help the market it hasn’t helped. 20 card limit wasn’t the answer and was solely done to try and help them get more money from stubs sales

Is anyone having any success flipping with the bots on the market? They are so much worse this year than any other year. I'm genuinely starting to wonder if it's SDS. I have yet to see what looks like bots competing with each other, it's just one bot on every profitable card. If a bunch of people had bots I think they'd compete against each other and it would really be obvious
-
This is a joke. I can't aint even buy anything to attempt to flip without being instantly undercut. 3rd party companies getting away with murder.
-
I seriously regret my purchase this year. I wasn't going to buy but got sucked in with the WBC going on. I knew the bot situation last year made flipping difficult but still managed to do well and had collections done in 3 weeks (my longest). This year I don't see me completing with how prevalent the bots are.
I have learned my lesson though. Stick to my gut next time. That's the ONLY way things change for the better... enough people need to be willing to walk away.

SDS, something needs to be done about these Bots. Obviously coming from StubFarmers selling stubs outside of you. When you look at some of the Home Run call sounds specially, like "Van Down By the River" it is literally impossible right now to make a bid without being outbide a second later, same thing when you go to sell one. Imagine this is happening all of the market. I dont flip, and done mind a good bidding battle, but this has becoming ridiciulous. please fix it!

Its Crazy when i went jnto diamond dynasty ranked game i played against another guy that had all the top priced players playing on the team thats probably over a billion stubs worth and whats funny is that with that team and im

However, not sure what your post has to do with marketplace bots.

I messaged SDS 3 days ago asking simply if using an automated bot on the market violated terms of service. Their response...
"Hello- Thank you for your message.
We are excited to hear your thoughts! Please visit forums.theshow.com to submit feedback and be involved in discussions regarding The Show."
Can't even say "yes, using an automated bot does violate terms of service". Either their AI customer service sucks or using a bot is totally fine and they won't do anything about it...or both
-
@Wolfski0412_PSN I agree with this.
-
There are a dozen ways SDS could combat the problem. If the store went down theyd devote every resource on the planet to fix it within minutes. Market bots have gotten incrementally worse for years and SDS has not fixed it. Clearly they either can't or aren't even trying.
-
I noticed 2 bots in a bidding war to sell an item and have been keeping a left eye on it. It's going down by about 1-2 stubs per second as they replace each others bids. Maybe SDS servers would have less issues if bots weren't placing dozens of orders per second on the market.
-
You have to "screw the bots over". Drive the price down as low as the bot bids, or up if buying obviously. Force it to either sell way too low or buy way too high. Then put your bid in right after back at original spot. Sometimes I sit there and just mess with the bots forcing them to buy or sell for no profit. Since you know we arent gonna get help elswhere

@ChuckCLC_PSN Not all heroes wear capes my guy.
