It's been a complete shitshow since early release.
How do you mess this up so badly?
Blame it on human imperfection?
EA screwed up Season 4 in NHL so badly recently, as well. Sorry to post about another game here, but to vent anywhere about how EA screwed up is cleansing in a way.
Positive is now I'm not caught up in the vortex of playing 2 ultimate team sports game at once 🤪 -
@Dthomp_PSN the squad page has been bugged for 3 years. Everytime you go to make a sub its a dice roll if you get kicked or the game freezes.

I completed the Event and now can’t access the “progress” tab (god it sukcs) to confirm I got 50 pts and Turang. It ends tomorrow at noon so if it doesn’t count tonight I’m gonna be pissed

I'd really love to know how releasing a simple program that is all stats based, not even frigging moments, can cause this kind of lag?
Can we move all programing and QA to Claude? Can't be worse than this mess of an organization

The issue probably isn’t just “a simple stats program.” It’s the amount of live backend syncing tied to it. I finished a game with Jeter at P3, 104/104, then during the entire next game I watched it keep updating in real time to 104/107, 104/109, 104/114 (over 3 plate appearances). That tells me the game is constantly processing and refreshing progression data while an online game is already being played, instead of just logging it cleanly after the game.
That means the infrastructure is not only handling the actual ranked game traffic, matchmaking, and whatever netcode overhead already exists, but also constant stat writes, progression checks, mission tracking, PxP updates, UI refreshes, and who knows how many other live-service calls in parallel.
And that’s the bigger point: I very much doubt these companies have the backend capacity (or they NEGLECT to upgrade servers accordingly) to handle their real concurrent player load as well as people think they do. A million players constantly generating those updates is not nothing.
This wasn’t a huge issue last year. But between this, the disconnects, the market bots (huge f’kn problem), and the god awful release state of this game, it may be take the cake as the worst release ever. Which sucks bc I have fun with the game, but maybe it’s my ego saying I don’t want to play because of SDS’s incompetence.

2024 was worse, if I recall it had a the big emergency patch that made everyone tiny.
I don't judge a release by launch day, because I expect things to go wrong in online games (my MMORPG history I guess), lets see what things are like by the weekend.
But last night was not a good experience

I just figured that the hamsters went on strike over working conditions

But I didn't realize that they were pulling live data on all the menu's, while nice to have, makes moving through them frustrating at times.

2024 had that tiny player issue, players having messed up faces, an unlinking account issue where people were panicking because they thought their teams were erased after they had spent $1,000s on them. It also had the flashbang menu screen. A lot of the main streamers quit playing from about June until the AS Break.
