Just saw a list of the ‘untouchable’ players in Franchise and wanted to get people’s opinions on it. Personally I don’t mind the idea of a select few per team being too valuable to trade for but it feels like way too many players are untouchable to me. It looks like every decent prospect can’t be traded or traded for, yet prospects are traded all the time irl. Juan Soto was literally traded (from the Nationals) for a handful of prospects and yet that trade would be impossible in this game.

I like that trades are a little more difficult but this feels overkill to me.

One question I did have is does the untouchable statuses change at the trade deadline?

Prospects aren't dealt as much as it seems. Soto was the last trade that involved multiple top 100 prospects, but in the 3 years since only 1 top 50 prospect has been moved (DeVries - SD->ATH). You ask the question I'll be most curious about. When the team's status changes from normal to rebuild or playoffs, will the rebuilding team's rental players be put on the trade block, and will the playoff team's prospects become available?

That’s why I think prospects should be difficult to trade for, but not impossible. The Mariners just traded a couple prospects for Brendan Donovan and both of those prospects are untouchable in the game. It just seems weird to have a prospect with C potential be impossible to acquire.

But if that does change at the trade deadline, that would be huge and I think a very cool change.

It doesn’t change at the deadline. It should be possible to trade untouchable players. If I offer Juan Soto for the #90 over prospect that’s a C potential, that trade should be possible

@ewolfy13_PSN It doesn’t? Well that’s disappointing. How can any team ever rebuild if they can’t trade for prospects?
