Lag makes game unplayable

I've been playing the Show on ps5 for 5 years -- this is the first year that I absolutely am unable to time pitches online. The only way to make contact is to swing so early that I have no idea where the pitch is going. Am I the only one with this issue?
People always say "get a monitor" -- is that suddenly essential? I was able to play competitive games online in all previous versions of the game.

Events seem good, br feels laggy especially shippett. I tried all american and it was better

Yes very laggy online and frame rate drops.

It's the first day of pre access, the servers are always spotty at best. I will say that they seem a bit worse this year than in the past.
