I’m sure this has been answered before...better to buy packs in bulk or players.

Well, with packs you can hope to get lucky but you could also lose most of your stubs
Players you can buy whoever you want and if you don't like them, you can sell them back and recoup most of those stubs.
Whichever one sounds better to you, go with.

Note: my pack luck sucks as I’ve only pulled LS Alonso from earned packs.
I’ve got FotF Torres, Snell, Moncada, Bell, Correa and Posey by doing this.
Lest I forget about the Team Affinity packs, or “Fire Packs” as most (not me) would call them. Best card i e pulled from the “free” TA Packs was Lucas Giolito from a Houston TA Packs. Already had it though so I wanted to exchange it in the Cleveland TA but for some reason, since I already had a “no sell” version, I couldn’t even do that. So sold it and bought a gold I didn’t already have (Chuck Nasty) to get a jump on the Rockies TA since I will never be lucky enough to pull either Story or Arenado.

Buying packs is like gambling... More than likely you will lose stubs. Its fun, but rarely profitable. If there is a player you want, I would go buy him.

In my case if with the Stubbs i have or I am going to get for Programs or reaching another division in Ranked , I can improve my roster I will better invest but If you already have a team or position that wont be improve that much anytime soon , I give it a try with Headliners and when I lose the stubbs just tell myself "you wont use them in a long time"

I normally exchange silvers for gold packs but I have only ever received gold cards in those packs...can you get Diamond or others?

He's talking about buying a bunch of cheap common players and exchanging them in the team affinity program. Not the exchange silver for gold packs, those will only get you a gold player or whatever the pack is for, not a diamond.

Hey I’ve already added Florial and Torres from the Yanks! It’s time consuming but I bought extra lower priced cards so it wouldn’t actually cost me stubs! Not as exciting as opening packs but still nice to get the guys you want.

Keep trying on those TA packs. I had no diamond pulls in probably 60-70 of them and then finally pulled Arenado who is my most expensive card of all time. He is 9-12 with 2 HR's and putting him up for sale to get me to around 270k stubs.

Not to mention you will need those prospects to help round out your squad in this next event (if you play events). I’m looking forward to that Lux card (even though I’m a Giants fan) and Bohm’s prospect card has great attributes so I could only imagine what a 95 FS has for attributes!
