    I regret to inform you, The Show 25 is still broken. Haven't played in a few weeks and just got off a game that was really fun, until the 4th inning when the comeback logic and game scripting came into play. My 4-0 lead becomes 4-5 because of some really questionable "control issues" with a starter that had thrown 21 pitches or so through 3 innings. Oh... and my 99 CF with gold fielding ran past a ground ball in center that turned into an RBI triple. Probably not how a respectable baseball game should play. That is unless you love yourself some RNG.

    Pack it up SDS. Don't even bother releasing 26 because you need to discover where it started to go wrong with your series. Seems like 18 was when it began to go downhill. Baseball / Sports video game fans deserve better. Even if the comeback logic benefits you. No more game mechanics deciding outcomes of games, please and thank you.

    I love the comeback logic stories.

    After taking a few weeks off I came back and beat my first opponent 6-0
    Then I played my second game and ran up against someone who.

    Has played about 60 more online games than I have.
    Has averaged more runs per game than I have.
    Has a higher batting average than I have (.251 to .188)
    Has a better record and higher winning % than I do.

    In our game he out hit me 14 to 8 and I struck out 16 times compared to his 9.

    But it could not have possibly been that he was just a better player. SDS conspired against me.

    The game had too many collections in DD and the game was playable UNTIL July. My game kept crashing every 5-10 minutes by freezing and sending me to the Xbox dashboard even and it kept happening even when I have ethernet. One time I played MLB 25 on July and the game crashed 17 times in the span of an hour. The constant crashing was the main reason why I stopped playing the game. I will never buy MLB The Show ever again because I dealt with 2 waves of constant crashing since MLB 24 and when it happened in MLB 24 it happened in December and now it happened in July.

    I completely understand your point of view, and there is great merit to the concept of fixing what is broken (especially things that have been broken for years now) before releasing another game version. But, while SDS will never confirm nor deny this, truth is if they skipped a single year of new title release I think it would bankrupt the company.

    After having to pay Sony their profit check, I don't think enough is left over for SDS to absorb a full year of no new release income.

    I tell you what, man. I know your intention was to get me real good with a clever and cheeky clap back... but the research you put into your post combined with the logic really makes me reconsider a bit on this particular example I gave. Now, researching someone's online stats / records / etc. I was told is against board policy through a suspension I once had (I don't agree with it frankly) so do be warned in case someone from SDS sees this...but I legitimately think this might be the best post of someone who opposes me. Most people just wave it off and don't really provide anything of substance to refute me, but you've definitely swayed me here.

    Only possible counter I could give you is how stats are misleading. I thought Carson Wentz was a top tier QB because his stats said so, yet NFL teams kept benching him / getting rid of him. The fans hated him too. So I guess what I didn't consider is that he didn't make plays consistently, or when it mattered. That backed me off of using stats as the end all be all, because I used to be a stat junkie. I've had many games where I just drop my controller and walk out of the room. It jacks up my ERA, lowers my BA etc. Now, I don't do that the majority of the time, so there is some truth to me not being the best player...but it doesn't paint the full picture is I guess all I'm saying.

    He must've been having a bad game, because he didn't switch up his pitch patterns until the last inning and a half. I felt I outplayed him even if he has played the game more and compiled better stats lifetime / more hits in this game. He had several weak bloop hits through the infield and most of my hits were right on the screws (with several loud outs in between) It also doesn't answer for the undeserved / random error and suddenly losing control of my pitches. As we know, in an effort to reflect "real baseball" the game incorporates these random elements that don't have any kind of mini game or button press to avoid it happening to you. It just happens without warning and you, the player, have to deal with the consequences. That's what I can't seem to shake. That's why I can't fully abandon my stance on this (and the stance of many others) But honestly man, really well done response, you definitely swayed me a bit and made it pretty tough for me to argue the contrary.

    @Invinitee_XBL

    Not to mention long standing features being taken away without explanation and full modes not working (Create-a-Stadium) A dip in quality all the way around. Gameplay, graphics and technical.

    @PriorFir4383355_XBL

    Yeah, you're probably right. It probably only happened with WWE 2K20 because it was a disaster and 2K had the financial security to do so... that and WWE isn't a real sport and shouldn't be a yearly title anyway. Such a shame. We could all benefit from them getting their act together for a year or two. I think The Show Sympathizers (I don't know what else to call ya'll, don't be angry at me) would even have to admit the game was better for it if a miracle ever happened.

    How about all the games where you actually executed your pitches or had better sequencing and your starter didnt get rocked? How about all those times where you held a lead? How about all those times when you came back? How about all those times your center fielder made the play? If you only choose to look at the times when things go against you, you will be very unhappy.
    They didnt give me the job! The guy who did get it is cheating.
    She rejected me! Must be comeback logic.

    Fair. I have heard the part of the brain that stores bad memories is bigger than the side of the brain that stores good memories, so that's probably what's going on. Hence why you hear about friends falling out because of an argument, which then takes precedence over all the good memories they had.

    That's probably also why I get riled up. The game plays beautifully without those outside forces / game mechanics (whatever you want to call them) getting in the way. I want to lose in a way that's justified, fair and leaves no question in my mind that I was outplayed. I have too many experiences where this isn't the case. Not just a few, a lot. Sometimes I go on runs where this is the case. Sometimes I go on runs where all the good stuff you described is happening. It's hard for it not to stand out if every 10 games there are 3 that were dirty. That's still 7 clean games, but why did the game spazz out for those other 3? Imagine where that's not the case?

    This game scripting, comeback logic, RNG stuff that other people have talked about along with me is in all modern sports games. It used to be, if you were just really good at a game, you were just really good and won the vast majority of your games. That was me in NBA 2K. I knew the players releases and how not to make the tiny mistakes other people make that won me games. I won a lot more than I lost and felt my record painted an accurate picture. In recent years, I'm always hovering around .500. I'm just the same as I always was, and play the heck out of sports games whenever I buy them...but suddenly the results are different. Can't shake that feeling. It feels like greed stole the games I love so much and that's why you're reading unhappy. I absolutely believe there's some kind of competitive balance mechanic in many competitive videos games nowadays. It goes right along with the whole participation trophy thing. I like good, clean competition. I don't feel it with sports games now.

    Your last 2 sentences, I would've left out. They didn't fit the tone of the first half and also made no sense. Your analogy game needs work.
