1940s Baseball Roster
-
Taking inspiration from Storylines and MLB The Show’s recent inclusion of players and stadiums from the Negro Leagues, I put together a 1940s roster for MLB The Show 25 which includes historical teams from the Negro Leagues and MLB. My primary focus was to get the likenesses of the created players–especially the Negro Leagues players–as accurate as I could, so that playing with the roster would be akin to being able to watch a real baseball game being played by these relatively unknown and historically great ballplayers. Included on this roster are a couple of championship teams from the Cuban Winter League (one with Martin Dihigo). Also included are the 1952 Indianapolis Clowns (rather than a Clowns team from the 1940s) because I thought people would like to play with a teenage Henry Aaron. The roster currently has at least 20 players per team (except for Almendares who in real life only had 15 players on the entire team). It’s possible I will add more players in a future update, but we will have to see. Here are the teams on the roster: 1944 St. Louis Browns (Orioles slot)
 1946 Boston Red Sox
 1949 New York Yankees
1943 Chicago American Giants (Rays slot)
1952 Indianapolis Clowns (Blue Jays slot)
 1940 Chicago White Sox
 1948 Cleveland Indians (Guardians slot)
 1945 Detroit Tigers
1942 Kansas City Monarchs (Royals slot)
 1943 Washington Senators (Twins slot)

1947 Memphis Red Sox (Angels slot)

1948 Birmingham Black Barons (Mariners slot)
