I know if I tried to get Elly and actually did it after going through this crazy gauntlet i'd end up going like 1 for 82 with him.

Even in videogames you can challenge yourself and have fun doing it. Of course if it doesn't bring you any fun then just don't do it. No one put you into "hurt locker", just ignore the program and have fun playing different programs/modes, this program is clearly not for you and that's fine!This year's extreme program was the first one that I attempted since 19. I am offline only veteran difficulty enjoyer and extreme made me challenge myself and I had lot of fun seeing how I am improving every single game playing on HOF/Legend.
And I also understand that there is lot of people that don't like "locking cards behind something that most people will not do because they can't or just simply don't enjoy" I would not be surprised if they add new easier ways how to earn points in extreme in like 1-2 months so I believe everyone will get their Elly eventually
Logical people can parse a clear distinction between challenge and extreme frustration. I think you can also. Just seems you cannot bring yourself to accept a simple and valid concept, but instead find disagreement.

Can you accept that I enjoyed the program and did not feel extreme frustration? It is simple and valid concept for logical person like you, no?

My view is that the entire concept is ridiculous. I grew up thinking that the purpose of video games was to provide entertainment. Well, if the experience is filled with frustration and bitterness, then that doesn't meet my definition of entertainment.
All players are not the same players.
- Some people enjoy the challenge of Dark Souls games and others don't.
- Some people enjoy turn based RPG's others don't.*
- Some people enjoy games like Power Wash Simulator others don't
- Some people enjoy difficult puzzle games others don't.
The same goes for programs in MLB the show. None of us are the universal filter for what is fun or enjoyable for others. I have no doubt that there are people who truly enjoyed either the process of playing the Extreme Program or enjoyed the feeling of accomplishment.
In the end SDS will make the decision based on feedback and engagement in the program.

To illustrate how ridiculous extreme DQ is. I beat the first stadium on all star and got kenley so I quit. Restarted the mode and played first stadium in rookie because I just wanted to win and don’t need the reward. Lost 1-0 on a wall scrapper HR by the CPU with multiple squared up balls hit right at defenders with nerfed exit velocity. The randomness is absolutely bonkers and feels like one giant troll job.

Rookie difficulty is terrible, I fully believe I have better chance winning on All-Star than on Rookie. Rookie feels like it is completely random as you said and pitches are so much slower that it always ruins my timing. Well, at least you did not lose the card, that's positive

-
I always hear that rookie difficulty is weird, random, less winnable than all-star. That is a HUGE issue with this game as it shouldn’t be this way. Rookie should play like rookie ALL the time not some of the time because RNG decides that particular game the CPU is gonna nerf your hitters while buffing the CPU under the guise of randomness. It’s beyond ridiculous
-
@skywalker_25_PSN Don't, dude.
I'm not one that doesn't want other people to have things i can't get.
The more that get all these cards the better. -
Yeah no one cares who was the cards. Everyone should have the opportunity to get every card in the game regardless of skill level. It’s a GAME. Not real life with no money on the line unless you actually play in official tournaments for money and then rosters are regulated anyway.
-
Everyone is hung up on difficulty. Extreme does not remotely imply difficult.
The thing is, the amount of pxp needed is beyond extreme, its just flat out unreasonable to expect anyone to play the game that much from this late point in the season.
Also addressing the issue that this program should have far, far more than 3 cards they could have done this:
11 cards in the program. The first given for free. getting 8k pxp (enough for P5) in MLB or GBL stadiums gets you 10% towards the porgram. p5 10 specific cards, without using user created stadiums and being able to play the main offline modes. Thats extreme, but not unreasonable. -
I had a glitch in DQ where my 1-game penalty wouldn’t go away, even after I beat the sweeper and Kenley stadium challenge (didn’t get Kenley either). DQ sucks.
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN
You don’t lose on rookie, but sometimes the CPU decides to dot you all game and it sucks. -
It’s just really bizarre how it plays like that way more often than it should. I’ve learned when games just have that feel that things are not quite right.
-
Mom the 3/781 free cards aren’t free enough!!!
-
Bless you guys that do the extreme stuff every year. I’ve never even tried anything other than the conquest. I play to chill out, And this would definitely not be it lol

We found our troll award winner of the day.

Nevermind haha
