Ways to Save Extreme

@MiKySaK_PSN
Ok then make it one whole collection. I don think getting John Don is necessarily easy -
Extreme will be made easier to complete in a few months. Keep extreme the extreme program. Fine as it is. If your idea was added many of us would be able to finish ina day or weekend which would defeat its whole purpose
-
Great idea.
As a first timer who is nowhere near good enough to complete any of the moments, the idea, this far in, of spending 100+ hours blindly grinding for a few cards is not at all appealing.
I'm fortunate to have every card in the game and excess stubs, so was really looking for something engaging to keep me interested, instead it's driving me away.
I want to keep playing but why would I, or anyone else in my situation?
A rare misstep from SDS (i have adored my first year playing) and one I hope they correct before what's left of the player base walks away.
-
At the very least, add a mini season. I still don’t see how collecting Donaldson for some progress ruins the idea
-
@TheBigPapa55_PSN That would be enough for me, yes.
They had one last year, so the only reason I can think of to remove it was to make it more difficult to complete. -

Isnt it already completable in a day if you are good at the game?
Just add in a mini season that you can chip away at long term (make it max 90 cards against all 99 teams for a good twist instead of making people play on unfun pitch speeds).
Also add stat grinds for the cards in the program. Lengthy ones like in past years. Give people the OPTION instead of just play the game in modes and pitch speeds that are about as fun as punching myself in the balls
Again, there was no reason for the regression from the prior couple years except to reinforce to casuals that SDS doesnt really give a [censored] about them anymore. (And again, its been a theme all year, its not just the extreme program)

@Teak2112_MLBTS
That’s exactly the point -
How about an extreme stub exchange a month later? 2m for 30 points progress ... Can do twice (leaving 40 to do through playing). Might be nice for ppl with lots of leftover stubs, maybe some ppl even buy stubs which sds would want.

This sounds like a good idea, but make it 500K.

@xRatedGProdigyx_PSN I'd trade 3M stubs for some progress.
It'd be the only way I could complete this. -

I wouldn't mind seeing some extensive stat grinds - maybe having to P5 certain cards for progress - but adding a stub exchange would totally defeat the purpose. You shouldn't be able to pay your way through this kind of program. It's called Extreme for a reason.
-
At least this year, they added the repeatable XP mission. In 2020, you had to beat the Extreme Moments, Conquest and Showdown. There were no other ways to earn progress and unlock 99 Gehrig. That was it.

Market would get extreme for few days with everyone trying to flip their way to finish extreme program haha
I agree with you, they should add some grind for the future for everyone to be able to get it. But as Dolenz mentioned above, they should add this option after few weeks so those that already completed it the hard way have at least some feeling of having exclusive card that was hard to get - and they don't feel like they wasted their time trying to complete some of those ridiculous challenges. I believe that would be perfect mix. It would not be as easy as last year (that wasn't even extreme program really, I think I played like two mini seasons and completed whole program like that without doing anything extreme) but everyone would be able to get all those cards eventually, not like 2019 and 2020 as you mentioned above. -

They had one before and it at least required a good amount of grinding in exchange for progress.
Extreme is about difficulty. You either have to have some decent skill at the game and if you don't your only other option should be some lengthy stat grinds whether that is P5ing specific cards or something like a more challenging Mini Season. There is nothing difficult about spending leftover stubs or swiping a credit card. People complain all the time about this game becoming more "pay to win" and adding a stub exchange to a program like Extreme would be the cherry on top of that narrative.

I've done the DQ 3 times, Gotten Kenley...thats it....when i play Cleveland its been 80%+ on legend and i win and nothing....its really starting to tick me off at this point.
-
It's SUPPOSED to be hard. That's why they call it Extreme.
Anyway, whenever the final inning drops, they'll turn on Double/Triple/Whatever PXP forever and you can earn everything via the repeatable mission. That's how I'm earning them.

Took me a month to complete that Showdown...

I’m with @SaveFarris_PSN It’s extreme and supposed to be diabolically hard!
I just wish they’d make the rewards sellable. (In fact, I wish they made any rewards I earn sellable, regardless of program/mode).

It was brutal. I played through it so many times only to repeatedly get shut down by Nate Pearson at the end. A few were in heartbreaking fashion with the winning run stranded in scoring position.

My point is, at least this year they threw in the XP mission as an alternative.
Also, since when could you lose to a boss in Showdown and continue the run? I got demolished by Randy Johnson the other day and it let me keep going. That's gotta be new.

@BLAISEBLAISE_PSN I decided just to keep playing the game the same way and eventually I will finish the program with pxp. I'm at 15% already. Probably going to take 6 weeks to get through it.
