This is my first year and frankly, i'm not nearly good enough to do these moments.
My only option to complete it is to gain 800k PXP.
Even with double PXP it's a prohibitively long grind.That's the equivalent to P5'ing 100 cards from scratch.
I doubt there's more than a handful of players with 100 P5s all year long, but we're expected to do it from Oct?
At a time when SDS needs all the players it can get, this will only drive away players like me.
Isn't it XP that you need?

I just got home and took a look at the program. In the past, there were always a few moments that I could knock out. I don't think there's one that I can handle. Showdown will be almost impossible for me. I can probably do the conquest map. But... Yikes. I'll have to rely on the Event which only lasts until the 31st and repeatable XPs. I'll finish just before MLBTS 26.
You’re not wrong. I looked and was shocked there weren’t at least two somewhat easier moments to get the juices flowing. Like you, it could be I’m just getting old. But even the Mason Miller one is a problem for me. At the end of the day, it’s only Elly anyone “really” wants. Surprised they made this as hard as they did compared to previous extremes. Hopefully they plan to make the 2x PXP permanent even after the playoffs so I can get Elly in January.

Do the Diamond Quest. Although it’s on GOAT, just use a speed/bunt team and bunt every AB. Also make your best pitcher the #5 guy so you face their #5.Do you need to drag bunt when doing that method? I'm always seeing people who claim that they do this on higher difficulties. But the computer tosses me so many balls that I can't lay down a drag bunt. Also, would I be better with high bunt ratings (e.g. Garrett Hampson, Jackie Robinson) or fast switch hitters (e.g. Carlos Beltran, Jesus Made)?
-
@xRatedGProdigyx_PSN
No drag bunts. Just bunt right as the AB starts. Move the PCI a little to the right before you bunt too -
this seems not worth the frustration
-
@TheBigPapa55_PSN Thanks for that. I don't like DQ given the glitches, but did play it today.
Didn't get either player, but did get the Chase Pack (which is useless to me given i have so many stubs I could never use).
It's just demoralising as someone still learning the game.
I don't need the cards, but I still enjoy grinding the game and with content slowing down, I was hoping this would be something realistic. -
@victoryphoenix_PSN Yep.
I'd say most who have played all year have a ton of unused stubs and most cards in the game.
It's a tough ask to expect people in that situation to devote a huge ton of time into grinding for these cards.
I think SDS missed the mark here, sadly.
-
@x-814-x-MAFIA-x_PSN Nah, it's PXP.
800,000 of it.
Even with double PXP that's 11,500 HRs on rookie (factoring in PA stats too).I can't believe SDS thought that was realistic.
-
@Dolenz_PSN Fair point, but if you're not good enough to do the moments and need to rely on the PXP only, it's 100 P5 players worth from scratch.
It's my first year and I've played a ton as I've loved it and I don't even have 100 players P5 over the first 7 months of this game so no chance i will get that done despite playing a lot.
I've loved this year but I think SDS have grossly misjudged this one and it will result in more newer players just walking away which is the last thing the game needs at this time of the year.
I have almost every card in the game and millions of stubs such is the grind, but have nothing to spend them on and nothing to actually do (given i see this as unrealistic).
It's a real shame.
-
I definitely understand. I forget where I mentioned it but I checked My Legacy and I don't even have 400k pxp in the first 7 months since release. Even if I somehow doubled that amount in the next 5 months then I would only get Buxton of the three rewards.
Grinding for it is simply not reasonable and will most likely drive even more people to use the custom exploit stadium to gain PXP faster
-
Events and 40k pcp is the way. Conquest was a pain, Extreme quest, was crushing.
Still fun
-
The easy route to complete extreme is Showdown+DQ+Conquest. This gives you 90 points. Then you can finish with either 2 pxp, moments or events. Im at 70 points with half the conquest games remaining.
Showdown is slightly tough but with the continue option if you fail a mini boss makes it easier. DQ and Conquest are actually easy, just a grind. Ill have Elly either today or tomorrow.
-
@soonermagic78_XBL this EXACT same thing happened to me. I kid you not.

I ran into WS types the first two games I tried on events. Need to wait a few days to hopefully pair up with people I have a shot against

I’d be lying if I said I was shocked.

Me too. I just quit out of those and move on. I'm at 3 wins so far, hoping to get to 10 overall.

Man I hate diamond quest. You do great for 2 hours, beat most challenges including the sweeper, you have 40 % chance for Kenley and 70 % chance for Santana only to get neither and feel terrible for wasting so much time for nothing.
Hope SDS will scrap it or change for next year.I feel like this is were the miss understanding of hate for DQ comes from. I rarely play the whole map. 90% of the time just go straight for the stadiums and play on HoF or Legend (haven't played the Extreme 1 because of work yet) if it's an all live series team. Usually only have 25-35% chance to get rewards, but only takes me 15-20 minutes to complete. So if I don't get lucky and get both I just run it back and try again. This way I'm getting 4 runs of DQ in EACH with a 25-35% chance of getting rewards. So as long as I walk away with 1 of each after 4 runs I've maximized my time and instead of 1 run in 2 hours with only 80-95% (not garuanteed), I get 4 runs in and so far have always got both by my 4th run and Usually have 1-2 duplicates I can sell (maybe not great for this DQ because I heard you can't sell them).

The fact they put one of the cover athletes behind a program that maybe 10 % of the player base will complete is entirely idiotic. They should just just call the program Extreme RNG.
