    Hi guys,

I am new to the game and the franchise. I am 48 and been playing since June. I became quite obsess with the Diamond Dynasty mode. I spent almost all of my free time playing it - 2 to 3 hours every day.

But now, for the first time in three months, I hit a wall.

At first, I thought there would be no way I will unlock Rolen 99. I did last month. Then, I thought there was no way I will finish the Live Series. I did last week.

I thought there was no way I would unlock Ted Williams 99. This is what I have been working on these past few days. But the motivation is not much there.

I mean, I can unlock Williams, but what would I do with it? It would not be on my God Squad because he is not fast enough. I won't need it to grind into the Red Sox TA program because I have all the rewards beside the absolutely useless last one.

I have the same problem with Bautista. I have a load of 99 outfielders. Why should I grind and grind and grind (I still need 94 cards) for a guy I would not use because he is slow as molasse?

Furthermore, the market is killing me right now. I understand that a lot of people get richer this week-end by completing the Shark Conquest and the Neon Programs. I am one of those. But I am really richer?

Last week, I needed 63 cards to unlock Williams, cards that would cost me (at the time) 500 K. Seven days later, I now need 31 cards. That would cost me... 487 K. What the hell???

For the first time in three months yesterday, I had no desire to play the game. I end up finishing the Rangers Neon Program. I did it in one game. I then plan on doing the Braves Neon Program. I built my squad and... close the game instead and watch a movie on Netflix.

I am not sure what to grind for anymore. I have 99 players at all positions on my God Squad. None of them are buffer waiting to be replace by a new shinny thing. All these players have a special place in my baseball fan heart and I love playing with them. I also have all the former Expos (the team of my childhood) players available in the game. I have done all the Programs beside one.

I could grind to buy the cards that would unlock Griffey Jr 99 (wich I absolutely love as a teen). But is he better than Beltran? And even if he is, would it REALLY make my team a lot better? Does it justified spending thousand and thousand of stubs (that I don't have yet) on it?

Everything that I still need to do (some lame Conquest, two or three Diamond Quests and one Mini-Season) will get me nothing I need to upgrade my team. Even the Neon program is of no use to me (I already unlock the dozen of cards I like, wich are all former stars).

I might like to unlock Gehrig Neon because I have a soft spot for Yankees Legends. But again, we are talking about - I think - another slow player that I won't put on my God Squad.

I have no intention of playing offline (my abilities are far from being there yet). Not sure I would like to play Road to the Show (it seems very frustrating) or March to October (many seems to find it lame).

I ear you: I could play the game to only play the game, but... I did it so much these last months and got rewarded for it with new cards to improve my team. Now, playing without a valid reward seems a lot less appealing. Call me Pavlov's dog...

Do I miss something? Is there more to the game than building the 99 squad of your dream? And what do you do when you get there?

(Sorry for the long read and the childlike vocabulary, english is my second language)

You explained yourself well and I would not say you used childlike vocabulary (which there would be plenty of examples throughout this forum). Unfortunately for you, I don't think you are going to get excited by much of the future rewards/cards for the rest of the year. It sounds like you have done well in building a squad that you enjoy and fit your style of play. It sounds like you have hit your endgame goals for your team within Diamond Dynasty. I think that it is a good thing that you have reached your goal, but unfortunately I don't think there will be much left to this game that will interest you. The big thing about Diamond Dynasty at this point is to wait for next year and start all over again.

To me the motivation to play isn't collections or cards but playing online vs real opponents. If a card comes out that I think will better my team or I want to try out I'll grind for it. I haven't even completed the rolen collection let alone WIlliams or Bautista collections because as you said they really wouldn't add to my team. I am working to grind Reynolds ad my future RF but for the most part I'm satisfied with my lineup until finest releases I think.

long story short I just like trying to get better by playing online...

I decided to keep playing. I will just grind at whatever the game is pitching me, with a priority wich each new Spotlight program. I will then try to finish the Neon collection. Not sure of what I will do with my 200 k in stubs, though...

There will be at least 2 more Mega Collections (Rolen/Williams/Bautista) coming. You could start prepping for that.
