Are Theme Teams with hitter only captains really at a disadvantage? Yes. Details included

On one hand, its inexcusable for SDS to not have both captains at this stage
Also, captains have gone downhill each year (I know people like cornerstones last year which were good, but team captains were terrible and there were very few card set captains like in 23). SDS needs to either refocus this or drop them completely
That said, there is no mode where its theme team vs theme team. No one is 'disadvantaged' in that sense. The card balance is far more impactful (and a way worse state than captains).
Frankly, SDS does an absolutely terrible job with the theme team aspect. I very strongly disagree with the notion that a Giants Willie Mays should work for a Mets theme team, but they do not support theme teams with cards or content.
Basically, god squadders dont care so SDS largely doesn't care because I assume they don't feel thats where the money is.

That is true and maybe Advantaged or Disadvantaged is a poor term to use (The AI chose it). But it does get the point across.
But based on the number of posts I saw here, on Reddit and on Twitter there are quite a few fans of those teams with only a hitter captain complaining about how they are at a disadvantage. I thought that SDS was trying to be fair by boosting the hitter only captain cards more. But I was wrong.
I mean the marlins have the third lowest card total in the game. But even the worst player in their lineup (86 Agustin Ramirez) has the following stats after their insane boosts (96 points worth of Offensive Boosts)
Con R - 103 (+20)
Con L - 101 (+20)
POW R - 92 (+12)
Power L - 97 (+12)
Vis - 82 (+12)
CLT 101 (+20)Meanwhile the best an Oakland batter can get is +36 points worth of attribute boosts for a single hitter and that is only if they use one of their two lowest rated captains. If you use one of the two newest captains then that number falls to +30 points of offensive boosts (and only +15 for their pitchers).

I find it hard to believe that SDS will not give each team at least one of each captain at some point. All their content (Other than stuff that happens during the year) is planned out from the beginning of the year -

They mentioned Finest won't show up until November. A team like the Cardinals will not get a Pitcher Finest card because there is not a single one of them that deserve it.

I think last year had very few extra finest outside of the 1 per team. 2023 is once again the model that should be used with somewhere around 100 finest
I would assume based on how they have handled this year that we will not see more than 1 Finest for the majority of teams. I don't see the Rockies getting a pitcher for their Finest (although the second best player on their team in WAR is....Jimmy Herget of all people)
If they really planned this ahead Ubaldo would have been a captain somewhere, or Ottavino

Maybe the Mets can pay the Cardinals to talk Helsley back

LOL, could not make the team any worse.
He is definitely not helping his Free Agency value much since the trade. -
I miss the monthly captains for Topps Now and such.

Frankly, it’s despicable that some teams have all hitting captains. You’re telling me after 4 rounds of TA you couldn’t get this right? Ridiculous.

How do they get all those boost point with only 2 Captains?

Look up topic. I posted my programs screenshot with their captain boosts
Two of their their hitter captains gives +20 to Con L, Con R, and CLT
Their Pitcher captain gives +12 to Pow R, Pow L and Vision. The problem, if I were to guess is that they assigned these values of boosts based on how good or bad they viewed these teams at the start of the season and maybe their plans for the first inning or two. But they don't seem to have modified the path they set out back then based on the way the season has progressed.
But that is kind of the point of my post and the tables I showed. It seems kind of insane that some teams can bee boosted 128 attribute points while others top out at 40.
It would be more understandable if they were based on the teams overall roster power. But Milwaukee getting +80 points in boosts while the A's get only 40 seems like, and I have used this term a lot this year, poorly planned.
