This Game is Darn Near Unplayable Online

I've had maybe more fun than I've ever had playing offline this year, but online is nearly unplayable. The whole thing is just an RNG-fueled nightmare determined completely by who happens to get rewarded with the most solo HRs.
I just got done with a weekend classic game and ohhhhhh boy was it a doozy. I can't even be mad because it's such a good example of what I've been frustrated with for months.
I had 10 hard hit balls (95+ exit velo) which resulted in 6 singles, 2 doubles, a 101mph double play ball, and a flyball to dead center that died on the track
My opponent had 11 hard hit balls which resulted in 7 solo HRs, 3 doubles, and a single.
I had 1 or 2 "perfect/perfects" and my opponent had maybe 3 so that's not the explanation for the difference.
To add insult to injury, my opponent also struck out 10 times to my 7, meaning I had only one fewer hard hit ball but three fewer strikeouts, but I lost 8-1
At first I thought it was just the normal ebb and flow of RNG, but it's been almost 2 months now of me trying to win while getting HRs on a SIGNIFICANTLY lower percentage of my hits. It's gotten to the point where I'm genuinely wondering if I'm doing something wrong. Was there a shift in the meta at some point I didn't pick up on? Is everyone using power swing now? Is there something I'm doing wrong as a pitcher that the hard hit balls I give up are HRs a staggering percentage of the time instead of even hard hit singles and doubles?
Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. I play this game to compete online, but it's getting so frustrating at this point it's barely worth playing....

I don’t have any issues online. There’s some games i think i deserve to win and I don’t and there are some games I didn’t deserve to win and i did. The large majority of them the better player one for sure. I just don’t get hung up on a single game at all.
-
Ive never been able to hit online. At least you get some results... I've lost games with 20+ strikeouts allowing 1 hit and lose 1-0. Its frustrating especially for someone who isnt a good hitter to have perfect perfect outs, but i just tell myself... thats how baseball can really go sometimes and keep trying. I think my ranked batting average is like .190 right now, but my ERA is really good. I can pitch and play defense, but I absoluteky suck at hitting.

OP we get it your opponent played better than you and that’s ok.

It’s been so bad for me a good majority of the time I’ll ask for a friendly and quite often get it because my opponent realizes I’m getting screwed. Yesterday I tried to play a match in gold 2 WC. I hit everything hard. The ball was hit with a noodle man. Even with schwarver P5 and a perfect hit my ball died at the track. Nothing made any sense. My players as of late have been advancing on their own. It’s gotten so bad for me that I feel like I’m actually going crazy over it. I come on here and complain and feel like I’m one of the only ones this happens to. I watch content creators and while I see it happen to them it’s not near the rate I’m dealing with. I can go 2-22 in a round on goods. It’s truly mind boggling and I’m completely dumbfounded by it. Sometimes I go as far as thinking because I constantly gripe on the forums SDS tampered with my account. But obviously that’s pushing it but boy has it really made me scratch my head this year. Typically o can go in on chat after the match and my opponent will a knowledge that I was getting screwed but ya man it’s weird and unexplainable. People on here are gonna tell you your in ur head. I think my location amongst some other things just has it out for me this year somehow other than the few one in 5 or one in 6 matches

Content creators are pieces of [censored]. All of them. Personally, I think they're packs are artificially juiced and I really don't think Koogs can beat the [censored] out of a World Series players with bronzes and silvers. I mean come on. -
I’ll put it this way….All day I was smoking guys ranked in the 800-900s. Last year I was around 950 or so. I was even accused of smurfing earlier from a player using Randy ranked 980ish after he quit while I was on my way to mercy him. I just played another player with Randy hell I’ve faced nothing but Randy all day today. Guys with low ERAs I was doing very well. Good players. Very good players. I just played against a dude who swung at everything and probably holds a rank just around 700 and let me tell ya the game just changes completely. Suddenly everything loses exit velos. Ur pitches will hit the inner most par to give ur opponent the chance. U will have comical defense errors in clutch situations. For instance.. I would have won the game. But my catcher couldn’t field the pitch so the player was able to make it to first base on a strikeout. What ALWAYS comes next… you guessed it. A bomb. Pitch was nowhere near the plate heavy inside yet my opponent rips a bomb. It’s those kinds of things you have to watch out for when ur facing guys that are ranked lower or just aren’t as good or have internet issues. You have to be careful. Ur pitches are going to hang. Ur defense is going to make errors. Ur hits will only have exit velos on the foul balls. Ur goods are going to die as if they hit a tunnel of wind suddenly while ur opponent dinks the living [censored] out of ur with early or late hits. For me personally, it has made me have to work much harder and play more. Smart from SDS. The gameplay handicaps and adapts to let players that aren’t as good keep up with some of us that play religiously. People on here will deny it and I don’t bat an eye. My thought is they are just trolling because there is no way we should even be arguing this

@TheBigPapa55_PSN I don’t know about anything being juiced. I’ve seen some content creators get destroyed on pack openings. I do see them generally get smooth gameplay for the most part. Lately though it’s getting worse for them as well . Especially some of the bigger ones. I’ve seen them get royally screwed. I’ve beat some of the top players in this game. I’m not at their level at all. I truly feel when I play some of the top creators in the past and pull a win that the game just heavily favored me. And it’s disgusting. I don’t watch the koogs guy anymore you mentioned so can’t comment. From what I do remember of him though no I highly doubt there are maybe but a few players in this game who can beat some of us with silvers and bronzes. Not gonna happen because they won’t get the exit velo they need to win. Nor do they have the vision stats to keep up. So I’m with you on that

Same thing happened to me. De vries diamond shield at 2nd in the 9th. I'm winning by 1. Routine ground ball directly to him, not even a high velocity hit and it got the bad hop animation. Next guy I threw a splitter with Chapman that should've been below the zone and it was pretty much middle middle for a 2 run hr. I lose.
Should've been 2 outs and nobody on in the 9th at that point. The next game elly at ss had an error in the 9th too when I was up one but fortunately I didn't lose that one

@ref479ode_PSN ya man the game tries you gotta try and work around it as silly as that sounds. It’s absolutely ridiculous in my opinion. I played the best player in the world this morning. Only lost 3-6. I felt like the game was heavily on my side but being that he had Randy and it was legend I stood no chance. The pci shrinks comically small when 99 randy throws outside pitches.

Naw this game is complete [censored] cheeks online. Game is garbage as a whole as well. Tired of hitting balls 100+ perfect perfect right into a third baseman’s glove but then I throw a dot and it’s hit 60 mph up the middle and scores a run. Game is [censored] awful

Yeah. Suck when ut always happens to an opponent. Yet youre never that opponent.

It’s unacceptable how bad online play is (this year especially). I’ll never understand how Battlefield can have up to 70 players in the same lobby, flying jets, driving tanks, blowing up buildings, vehicles driving all over the place, with just constant action/motion going without a single issue. Yet The Show can’t have a game where it’s just two people throwing and hitting a ball back and forth without massive lag, freeze offs, pitches glitching outside the zone, etc.
I’m not one of those 1000 rated goons, but I am an above average WS player who hits around .325 overall. This year the timing windows online are just miserable, almost nonexistent at times. There will be pitches that I KNOW I should be getting to with excellent timing, yet my pci doesn’t get to the ball and I’m “late” on a 94 mph FB that I anticipated already.
I’m a competitive guy, it’s the reason I enjoy playing online. I use to get so bent out of shape with bad results, loses, RNG blatantly going in my oppent’s favor, etc. Last year I finally told myself to just enjoy it for what it is. Which is a fairly decent baseball game, lots of good content, an enjoyable offline experience (even though the offline grind can get monotonous), and that online will be a [censored] shoot 75% of the time.
Unless you’re a streamer or someone who has the luxury to play 4-6+ hours a day and get a solid feel for the inconsistency with online play, it’s just not worth getting upset over.
Again, I’ll never understand how SDS has absolutely known about their server instability issues for YEARS, yet let it fall to the wayside every single game release.
