Help with squad mangement

Help with squad management bench players. It says press x to highlight player then select replacement. I want to change someone on the bench he is a lf. But when I press x he turns red and no matter what I press after that he just de selects. Then I try changing the lf directly but can’t select the benched player to put in because he is already on my bench The manual is no help and I have searchEd the web I know I am missing something simple but I just can’t get it Very frustrating.

Just to be clear, you're trying to put someone on your bench into your lineup? Or are you trying to replace someone on your bench with someone currently not on your squad?

Either way I would prefer to pull him off the bench replace home with an inventory player Then I can put him where I want from inventory. I just can’t figure out how to change out my bench players period.

If you're highlighting the player on your bench and he's turning red or not taking you to the replacement screen, I'd send a bug report.
