Monitor settings

I just bought a 24 inch acer monitor XF240H. I am trying to figure out what audio and video settings to use for best video and audio. I am using a hdmi cord. Should I use another connection? Is it good to be in game mode? Also can you use a external speaker?

There is no game mode setting on a monitor as far as I know. HDMI cable is fine. My Asus monitor has built in speakers which aren’t great so I hope up an external powered Bose speaker. As far as picture settings that just comes down to personal preference.

A monitor player!, welcome to being less of a casual. HDMI is all you need, of course monitor speakers are always garbage..that's why I have an optical switch that I flip between my PS4 and PC to a 500 watt 5.1 speaker.

Thanks everyone. I’m slowing figuring out the settings. The monitor I bought does have a game mode I can turn on and off. I ended up plugging my Bose speaker in and it sounds much better.
